Manchester - Opening again with ‘People go…’ The Wildhearts again rocked the Uni. Ginger was in good form even though he reportedly had a bad back. They didn’t quite match the brilliance of the last tour which was more of a ‘best of’ tour, but I have no complaints as the new songs sounded great. ‘OCD’ is a big favourite of mine, ‘Karma…’ & the shout along - elvistastik ‘Vanilla Radio’ all sqeezed nicely into the set.
Add to that ‘Caprice, Caffine Bomb' & everbodys favourite ‘Headfuck’ & we were having a ball… CJ was cool with his sticker filled guitar & stand in Jon Poole looked like he was having a great time, like me. So I was knackerd by the time of ‘29 x the pain’ kicked in during the encore, & I missed a song due to a call of nature! Took a while to get through the sell out crowd & then find the nearest toilet flooded!!! Ealier Darling were OK & Amen were full of wild energy in yer face metal....
Bradford - The sound for Darling & Amen was better this week so I enjoyed their sets more this time, or was that the cidar I was drinking! I then spent the entire Wildhearts set bouncing around & singing along down at the front. At one point I hit the floor banging my knee badly, but I survived the rest of the set. Members of Amen & Darling hit the stage for the encore to finish the tour off with a wonderful party atmosphere. I was lucky enough to meet CJ after the gig & some other great people at the after gig party, cheers to Nick for that & Mat for driving. I Don’t think they needed to put the safety barrier so far from the stage, so I didn’t get any good piccies, but it was still a fantastik gig.
