4th Wall are an eclectic mix of crunchy slabs of guitar, rolling bass grooves, layers of electronica and energetic, bombastic drumming, capped by bright, soaring female vocals with an edge which combine a fresh, original approach to music with accessible, hook-laden melodies to create something for quite literally everyone!

:: HISTORY ::

Formed from the ashes of two-piece industrial metallers Twilight Laboratory following a spectacular bust-up just before Xmas 2003, 4th Wall were the end result now that founder member Lee was free from what had become an increasingly dance-orientated sound to start fusing rock riffs with electronics in a style much more in keeping his major musical influences - bands such as Nine Inch Nails, Die Krupps and White Zombie.

Assembling three musicians to round off the band's first lineup, Lee recruited guitarist Gav, drummer Tony and bass player Chris, working on songs that Lee had been composing for the past few years and starting to translate them from their purely electronic medium to a more organic, rock-based sound.

The addition of Sally as lead vocalist gave the band the edge Lee was looking for - Sal's style of vocals are rarely found fronting a heavy band such as 4th Wall, and Lee had high hopes for the combination standing out in the crowd, as well as making a point against all the derivative Sixties knock-off bands cluttering his local music scene.

After a few false starts at increasing the lineup in the search for an extra guitarist and/or keyboard player, which leaves the current total of band members past and present at nine (!), the addition of guitarist Matt in late 2004 finally cemented the lineup - despite the band having to take a nine-month hiatus after their drummer was relocated temporarily to Seattle - and now it's just a matter of playing as often as possible, getting new material written and showing the audiences of the Midlands that they don't have to listen to the same old crap day in, day out after all!
