Quistis's Personality

This is where you can learn more about Quistis's personality. Most people never even find out what she's really like because they never include her in their party! But hopefully after reading this, you'll find out the type of person Quistis really is and perhaps even change your mind about her.

Quistis is pretty quiet. She's open to conversation, but she's the type that waits for another person to engage in a conversation with her rather than starting one herself. Quistis will talk if she feels she has something to say that would be important, and in most cases she will tell others exactly how she feels about something. She's very compassionate and considerate. Even after laying the smack-down on Rinoa, Quistis feels she was too harsh and returns to apologize to Rinoa. Quistis is a pretty calm person, even when faced with instances of extreme peril. She's also a very modest person. She has a fanclub of students that practically worship her, and yet none of it goes to her head. Infact, she only mentions it once in Final fantasy VIII. Quistis longs to share her feelings of despair with someone, and that's easy to understand as she bares many responsibilities at the young age of 18, but as an instructor she realizes that she must remain professional with her students. Which results in her becoming depressed over small things. Despite Quistis's kindness, she does get pushed around and treated coldly by some. One of them happens to be Final Fantasy VIII's main character, Squall Leonhart. After revealing to Squall that she's depressed over losing her position as an instructor, he completely blows her off. Telling her that it's not his problem and that he doesn't want to get involved. Seifer also seems to display enjoyment in bashing Quistis's feelings...causing her emotional state to worsen. However, being the strong person that she is, Quistis allows no one to see her in such a state. Quistis has no memory of her biological parents, and it is revealed later in the game that she had trouble with adoptive parents. Quistis even goes through a big dilemma during the game. Whether her feelings for Squall is actually love or some other type of feeling. So a small-time rivalry ensues between Quistis and Rinoa, but after rediscovering her childhood and realizing that she loves Squall as a bigger sister would love a younger sibling, Quistis backs out. After all that she's been through, you'd think she'd be bitter about everything. After all, look at how much of a jerk Squall was...and he went through a lot less than Quistis. But she turned out to be the unsuspected...a warm and caring, big sister figure.
