She's walking a fine line. Julian probably wouldn't be terribly pleased to know that her lover is a Chaosite, much less a renegade member of House Niall. Or maybe he knows and is ignoring it; whichever, she has no plans to tell him about Conrad.

She's not her father's favorite, and she knows it. She isn't quite as fond of chasing after wildlife as her brothers and father, anyway, and she'd rather roam far afield than patrol Arden. And exploring Shadow makes keeping a Chaosite lover from Father that much easier.

With the "unfortunate" demise of Valerian and the advent and subsequent unreliability of Arwen, Isbel's had more contact with Julian recently than she's used to. Whether this is good, bad, or, like Julian, merely indifferent, remains to be seen.
