Michelle Returns Part 5

READER’S NOTE: Sorry for the delay. I am in the process of moving this week, and did not have much time to devote to these chronicles. However, I think Vincent’s “A Novel Experience” should have kept you guys occupied. If you haven’t checked it out, please do. It’s good for a chuckle. To get back into the swing of things. After my character’s introduction with the Prince, the other PCs took a liking to me. This caused a certain dynamic shift as my character became more of a central figure when the original intent was for me to just be a “background color NPC”. However, it did make my death in the end all the more tragic.

Player 1: “So why is it important for you to have this artifact translated?”

Marc: “This artifact was given to me by my sire. He died trying to discover its secrets. I want to know what exactly it is he died for.”

Player 2: “How noble.”

Player 3: “Any idea what language the text is written in?”

Marc: “I have no idea, but I was told that one of the local Nosferatu might be able to help us.”

Player 4: “Anybody here know how to get into contact with the Nosferatu?”

Player 1: “We could ask the Prince.”

Player 2: “Hey, maybe I can ask my own Sire.”

Player 3: “Hey that’s a good idea.”

Michelle: “Somebody rang for me?”

(players look at each other confused)

Player 3: “Uh…no. None of us called you.”

Player 4: “I didn’t realize the Prince was in the room. I thought we were alone.”

Michelle: “Yeah well my character just showed up.”

Player 2: “Well we were thinking of asking you something, but I just suggested that we should perhaps ask my Sire instead.”

Michelle: “Well I’m here now, so why don’t you ask me?”

Player 2: “It’s okay, my Prince, I can go ask my Sire. Thanks anyways.”

Michelle: “No. No. Ask me!”

Al: *stepping in* “Um…My Prince, there is an urgent phone call for you…”

Michelle: “Take a message.”

Al: *sighs and whispers something in Michelle’s ear.*

Michelle: “Oh! Okay. If you will excuse me, apparently I have date to go to. Toodles!”

(Michelle leaves)

READER’S NOTE: The Malkavian in our group hears voices in her head. The Storytellers would each take turns to whisper something to her. Now keep in mind, that my character is supposed to die at the end of the session and my artifact will be stolen.

Al: “They are making fun of you.”

Player 3: “Who is making fun of me?”

Solanna: “They are. They are all out to get you.”

Player 3: “They haven’t done anything to me. You all are just paranoid.”

Al: “No we’re not, YOU are the one who should be paranoid.”

Solanna: “Yeah. We have your best interests at heart.”

Michelle: “Hee. Hee. Yes, and you should steal that artifact from Match.”

(Al and Solanna glare at Michelle)

Michelle: “I wanna see Marc’s character dominated. Hee, hee.”

Al: (to player3) “Uh….You don’t want the artifact. It’s too dangerous.”

Solanna: (to player3) “Yeah. Plus who knows where it has been.”

Michelle: (to player3) “But it looks so pretty. You really MUST have it!”

Player 3: “All right! You guys are fucking confusing me! Are you guys three voices in my head or just one?”

Al: “Sorry. Guys, can we have a quick ST conference.”

(the STs go aside)

Al: “Michelle. What are you trying to do? Marc’s character needs to keep the artifact.”

Michelle: “Why?”

Solanna: “Because his character is going to get killed for it. Remember?”

Michelle: “Well Marc’s character is stealing the show. He should learn that he is not invincible. That’s why I want Players 3’s character to dominate him.”

Solanna: “Michelle! Marc’s character is getting killed for that artifact!”

Michelle: “Exactly. We should at least have some fun with him.”

Al: “Michelle. You don’t seem to understand. Marc is in possession of the artifact. He will be killed for the artifact at the end of this session. If Player 3 gets possession of the artifact, then Player 3 will get killed for it. We don’t want player 3 to die.”

Michelle: “But Marc has made himself to be the leader of the coterie in a space of five minutes. I want the other characters to know that they are equals to him.”

Solanna: “His death will be all the more tragic Michelle.”

Michelle: “Fine! What do I care? I didn’t write this part of the story anyway.”

(The STs return)

Player 3: “So what have the voices in my head decided?”

Al: “The voices tell you to leave the Gangrel alone.”

Michelle: “But that you don’t like the Gangrel.”

Player 3 (turning to me): “Okay. I guess I don’t like you.”

Marc: “I would ask why, but I really don’t care.”

READER’S NOTE: We come to the close of the evening and my character gets killed. The other players get deathly silent. They cannot believe that the STs would do something so cruel. However, as it turns out, the voices in Player 3’s head are really spirits that only Player 3 can hear. Al pulls me aside and asks me to play a wraith of my Gangrel character and to taunt Player 3. Everyone was thoroughly satisfied with the game. Apart from a few minor glitches, Michelle, Al and Solanna put on a good show. The others can’t wait for the next installment which is supposed to take place sometime this month.

Thanks for reading. I hope you enjoyed it.
