Cybernetics for the RPG Project

 

These cybernetics and bionics are appropriate for many campaigns, including Rifts and Shadowrun. But please include that I created these. Most of these are pretty original.

Water Storage: An internal organ to store water. This water will pulse out whenever needed and is refilled by the normal process of drinking.

Electromagnetic Detection

Metallically Enhanced Bones

Sound Blast Bones: A fully natural way of enhancing bone strength. Ultrasonic waves slowly "blast" the bones into molecularly tougher positions.

Metal Bones: A simple modification. The bone is replaced by a cybernetic bone. This makes the bone impossible to break by normal human breaking standards and offers some amount of increased strength.

Muscle Enhancement: For those who want to keep a regular body, a permanent pumping up of muscles can be done with a combination of artifical (and metallic) skin mixed with the real skin, chemicals and artifical workout programs (non-chemical). This can make normal humans very strong and superhumans extremely powerful.

Enhanced Joints: Can be put on regular or cybernetic bones. The amount of joints are increased strategically, allowing the person virtually unlimited movement in any direction. Excellent for ninjas, spies, espape artists, the like.

Hydraulic Limbs/Neck: This lets the character extend limbs (legs, arms) and the head. Being able to extend the arm 5 feet one way and then 5 feet quite another costs more money.

Automatic Backup Transfer

Extension Cord Compartment: The body is used as a holder for extension cords. The extension cords can be handed to someone else or the cyborg (with Power Siphon) can attach it to a power bar or something and drain energy. Or the cyborg can be used as a power source.

Power Siphon: This lets the body drain energy and take it to a special organ. This is entirely mechanical energy and is intended for borgs only.

Voice Modulator: Another simple one. A upgrade to the body that lets you modulate your voice's pitch, accent, etc. It has an internal computer allowing you to save accents. It also can save one of your own accents. So I could do the Overlord one once on my own and it would save it and do it perfectly every other time.

Internal Microphone: Duh. A microphone to make you louder.

Sonic Detection

Sound-Feeling: This lets the owner "feel" sound, an odd combination of sight and touch.

Enhanced Rest:This makes sleep deeper and more full. Thus, one gets much more out of the same sleep time.

 

Enhanced Placation: Another way to get the natural body more energy. Automatically all unnecessary functions are stopped depending on the situtation. So when a person is sitting down, the body takes away all of the crap that is not being used. This offers pretty good increases in energy.

 

Chloroskin: Chloroplasm and plant cells are engineered to cause a symbiotic relationship with animal tissue. The practical upshot of this is that you can make some of your own food using the sun, especially if taking a nap in the sun. Since the radiation is being turned into something useful, it also cuts down on skin cancer.

 

Nanobot Disease Combatters: These nanobots are like big white cells. They engage bacteria and destroy them. They can fight AIDS, because they detect the bacteria despite the dummy white cell.

 

Nanobot Poison Absorbers: These nanobots will find poisons and absorb them, then take them to a special dispenser.

 

Medic Nanobots: These general purpose nanobots will heal cuts, try to fix bones, stop internal bleeding, etc.

 

Burn Treatment Nanobots: These nanobots treat burns of various types with a set of chemicals, including small packets of ice water and ice blasters. They will also coordinate with other bots to help stop the internal effects of burns, or will stop it themselves if necessary.

 

Solar Plates: This is for full cyborgs. A plate of solar panels is hidden below the armor. The armor is then switched for the plates. The other way to do it is to affix solar panels later. The idea remains the same: get energy from the sun.

 

Electronic Surveillance Detector: A detector and computer is put into the body that enables people to detect all sorts of electronic surveillance systems.

 

Cheap Camera Eye: The eye is replaced by a eye that does at 25% the functions of a normal eye, but is also a camera. It is quite obviously fake.

 

Cheap Video Camera Eye: Similar to the previous, but is a video camera.

 

Natural Camera Eye: The eye is not replaced, but linked to a computer with a incredibly thin micro-foil of regular camera shots (also, if the Brain as Hard Drive upgrade is used, the brain can be used for bulk storage). Thus, the real eye will take a picture. This happens generally as the eye opens, but the eye does not need to make any real movement. A flash is included, but it is of ultraviolet intensity light and will not be seen by any regular human observer. Furthermore, it is then polarized to make a regular, human-apprehendable camera shot, and it keeps the ultravioet.

 

Natural Video Camera Eye: Similar to the above, but is a video camera.

 

Infrared Eye: Your typical bionic eye.

 

Enhanced Senses: Pick a sense and enhance it, bub.

 

Wrist or Finger Drug Dispenser Needles: These needles dispense drugs or chemicals. These include adrenaline, cyanide, etc.

 

Super Glass Eye Barrier: A set of extremely thin (as in strand of hair or piece of plastic thin) glass that comes down as a extra eyelid (though it allows light to go through. This glass can take a direct, point blank bullet shot from a magnum or typical assault rifle. Furthermore, it can also take a sniper rifle shot.

Super Bio Eye: This eye simultaneously does ultraviolet, infravision, enhanced color and range, radiation sensing, polarization, underwater sight, and tons of other things. Furthermore, no switching is needed. The eyes perfectly relay in ways that make sense only to one who owns the eye. All data is presented harmoniously and naturally. It takes an adjustment period to get used to how the eye presents the data to the brain, but after that period

 

Personal Modem: A modem, 1000 Base T, 10 Base T and 100 Base T and hub and server capacities, plus Internet browser displayed to the optical nerve. Makes the user a walking modem. Loved by hackers.

 

AA Radar: Anti-aircraft radar.

 

AA Targeting Computer

 

Zoom/Lock Eye: An eye with a lock system that is hooked up to any and all targeting systems, including computers and lasers inside the weapon at hand.

 

Zoom Ear: This allows the ear incredibly precise movements to "lock" onto one person or area and hear it extremely well, while hearing other places less well. This will allow a person to listen in on a conversation without surveillance equipment at a much larger distance.

 

Zoom Scent: Similar to the Zoom Ear, the nostrils are allowed small but extremely important movements in order to smell extremely subtle smells and to lock on to one scent.

 

Ambidextrousity: Develops equal skills with both hands.

 

Constant Memo Computer: This keeps track of everything that has been said. The computer correlates it with associations in the brain. Thus, at any time, the person may recall data from conversations. It has a limited hard drive.

 

Audio General Purpose Computer: This is a computer that records sounds, will identify significant ones, can compile data on sound, focus hearing, etc.

 

Dream Harvester Computer

Dream Control Computer: Simple: a computer in which you dictate roughly how your dream will go.

Grappling Tentacle:

Mirrored Gauntlets: These gauntlets serve two main purposes. They reflect lasers, enabling a skilled user to cap the enemy with what they were trying to do to the person, and they function as blinders for the enemy.

Rocket Hands/Limbs: Much like Aryam in Septerra Core, this allows you to launch your arms or hands.

Heat Torch Hand: The whole hand is a heat torch. At highest intensity is can melt through power armor, at lowest intensity it is suitable for soldering.

Lockpick Hand: A hand with numerous tools for both electronic and conventional lockpicking.

Modular Skin Tone: This upgrade allows the person to change their skin tone at will. It is not instant, but it does allow the person to have black, tan, olive, blue, green, brown, white, red, whatever skin.

Heat Torch Fingers: This sends out a small stream of flame that continues on.

Napalm Burst Fingers: This contains a little bit of napalm, enough for one good burst.

Retractable Knuckle Claws: Claws that pop out of the knuckles, just like Wolverine.

Retractable Elbow Blades: Blades that come out of the elbows.

Additional Arm: Can add arms.

Artifical Muscle: Special treatments turn existing muscle into inflated muscle.

Radio: Internal radio.

 

Clock Calculator and Pocketbook: An internal multi-purpose business thing. Includes calculator, a clock, financial plansheets, address books, phonebooks, and other lists.

 

Fingerguns: A revolver or light machinegun.

 

Minigun Hand: Duh.

 

Psionic Dampers: Protects against mind attacks and probes.

 

Super-Finger Hand: 20 fingers are on the hand. A computer and the brain working in tandem coordinate.

 

Cyborg Commando Hand: Expensive and rare.

 

Chainsaw Hand: Simple enough.

 

Mining Drill Hand: Also simple.

 

Pincer Hand: Contains two or three fingers, all of which are oversized.

 

Flamethrower Hand: Pretty simple.

 

Modular Hand Port: The hand can hold many hands.

 

Modular Arm Port: Many arms are possible.

 

Modular Leg Port: Although modular legs are not as common as modular arms or hands, they will get more common.

 

Modular Foot Port: Cheap, but only a few different feet.

 

Modular Finger Port: Allows you to switch fingers.

 

Modular Gun Arm: What LeKean has. Only guns or weapons will fit, however.

 

Brain Chip Activation Upgrade: This makes any brain chip inside the computer send out signals for increased activation. Sometimes this will do absolutely nothing, other times it may lead to increased intelligence or brain speed or some other benifit.

 

Brain as Hard Drive: This upgrade allows computers to use the brain as a hard drive to store data. This does NOT allow the person to do the same thing.
