What's
Going On Here..?
Within the pages of this site, you will find many locations throughout
the campaign world of the Flanaess represented in photographs and
illustrations. These images are presented along with details of
interesting landmarks or regions in that specific region.
Along with these images, you will find climate and weather statistics
for that region, as well as population density, maps and perhaps even a
short adventure.
Background
Our gaming group has adventured throughout the World Of Greyhawk setting
for well over ten years. Although there are many supplements, adventures
and other publications that include maps and geographic information,
we've always found that the one bit of information that seems to be
lacking are the illustrations or artists concepts of the actual region
of the Flanaess. Sure the maps are usually there, but what we're talking
about are images that show exactly what the characters are seeing.
For example, informing the characters that they are crossing a sweeping
grass covered plain is even more effective when you can show them an
illustration of the landscape around them. It helps to make sure
everyone visualizes the same scenery, as well as assisting a Dungeon
Master who may be having difficulty describing the landscape surrounding
the characters.
You'll
also notice that most of the character or racial images have an
anime-style look to them. That's due to my own personal obsession with
anime, and the fact that I personally DM our group's Greyhawk campaign.
For better or worse, I've made my World of Greyhawk an anime-colored
realm.
How
Can I Use This Information?
The answer to this question is going to depend on what type of
information brought you here. If you plan to make full use of this site,
and have access to a laptop or desktop PC with Internet capability, the
easiest thing to do is add a link to this site, and visit here if you
need to pull up some information or images. This is how our own gaming
group uses these pages.
Another option is to save the pages you need as .HTML files, and open
them using your Internet browser off-line. Same information - as long as
you save all of the images as well.
Some people may find it easier to use this site as a reference, and only
visit it when preparing for an adventure. This will allow you to cut and
paste any information from these pages, as well as copy or print any
images you might need.

Final Message From The I.G. Team...
We constructed this page because it was something we would have liked to
have been able to use. Other gaming enthusiasts have replied that they
felt the same way, so we decided to put it on line. This site may not be
something everyone that everyone will want to use, as we've already
received comments from some gamers that providing illustrations or
images of places throughout the Flanaess takes away some of the fun of
using your own imagination.
We would argue that this site is only a supplement to the many tools
that already exist for the World Of Greyhawk fantasy setting. It
includes information that some may find useful, and may develop into
more over time. For now, we invite you to sit back, relax and let us
show you what you haven't seen before...
