Kami’s Lookout
Kami’s Lookout is frequently used by the Z Fighters throughout Dragon Ball Z. With its large outdoor area and many training rooms, it is an ideal place to prepare for a big battle. Being located high in the sky also means that no civilians can see what is going on or be accidentally hurt while training is taking place. Kami (and later Dende) are more than happy to allow Goku and the others to train in his eternal sanctuary, while Mr. Popo often provides nourishment and accommodation for everyone.
Goku was actually trained by Kami atop the large tower and so was the first Z Fighter ever to visit the lookout. After learning that the Saiyans were on their way to earth, Tien, Krillin, Chaouzu, Yajirobe and Yamcha all trained at the lookout and realised what an honour it was to be there. One of the most important times that the lookout was used was in preparation for the Cell Games, where Trunks, Vegeta, Gohan and Goku all used the Room of Time and Spirit to prepare for one of their biggest ever battles. The final time that the lookout was used for training in DBZ was when Goten and Trunks learned to perfect the Fusion Dance so that they might battle Buu. In Dragon Ball GT Goku and Uub pushed the facility to its absolute limits when they trained there.
On many occasions Kami’s Lookout has been threatened with destruction; the most serious of these being when Super Buu came in search of Gotenks and turned everyone into chocolate for their trouble.
Master Roshi’s Training Island
The first time that Goku and Krillin undergo serious training is when they become the sole pupils of Master Roshi. Realising that his island is far too small for the boys to fully develop, Roshi packs up all of his things and travels with the boys and Launch to a much larger island. This particular island was also utilised by the old master when he trained Grandpa Gohan and the Ox King.
Aside from being of a good size, the island provides Goku and Krillin with many different landscapes to overcome. These include grasslands, deserts, lakes, mountains and also small towns. The only reason that this training location is effective is due to the diversity of the landscape.
Wilderness
When Gohan trains for the very first time, he is still just a child and very afraid of violence. When Piccolo takes it upon himself to train the boy he realises that he must first allow him to toughen up on his own. With this in mind Piccolo drops Gohan off in the wilderness and tells him that he must simply survive on his own for a while.
For most of the Z Fighters this would be totally useless, but for a child it is almost essential before any more serious training can take place. With a mixture of harsh weather and food that must be worked for, this remote area of wilderness is ideal for young Gohan. Not only must he take care of simple things, but he also must look out for the local wildlife that would eat him given half a chance. By the end of this period of time, Gohan has grown much stronger, proving that this area was perfect for his needs.
Hyperbolic Time Chamber
This is a room to another dimension that only two people at a time are let into. If you go in more then twice you will be locked into the room forever. The room goes on forever and the gravity is 10 times that of Earth's. The temperature changes so much that is builds your endurance very quickly. You will feel funny once you enter the room for the first time but it is just the gravity. It is a shock once you actually see the inside of this room because it is so huge and open. This place slows time down so that a day on the outside world is a year in the Hyperbolic Time Chamber. That is why it is such a great training ground. Gohan went SSJ in this room when he was training for the Cell games with Goku.
Korin's Tower-
Korin is a small cat-like creature that resides near the top of Korin Tower. Climbing this tower is considered a near impossibility and the only people ever to do it are Master Roshi, Goku and Mercenary Tao. Supposedly by climbing the tower you can meet with Korin and drink the sacred water to give you incredible power, but as with all myths, this is only a half-truth. The secret to Korin's training is actually the sheer persistence that is required to complete it. To climb the tower itself is an incredible achievement, but to the take the water from Korin is an even greater one. Despite his diminutive appearance, Korin is extremely fast and agile, meaning that to take the water from him requires both willpower and persistence. It took Master Roshi three years before he finally acquired the prize, but young Goku did it in just three days. Thanks to their efforts, both became much stronger, Goku more so because he actually climbed the tower twice.A lot of the training is centered more on focusing the mind than improving the physique. Only when Goku can anticipate his opponents moves can he finally catch Korin and be ready to face Mercenary Tao. So overall the power increase through climbing the tower and the strengthening of the mind acquired by catching Korin provides a fighter with a greater understanding of combat and an improved ability to defeat his foes.Sadly, as with much of the training in Dragon Ball, this one soon becomes obsolete. Who would climb the tower when they can just fly up instead? Korin however still finds a use for himself, as he is the only one on earth able to grow the fabled Senzu beans that are able to fully restore someone's power.
Pyramids
While Gohan has to simply survive in the wilderness by himself in preparation for the arrival of Nappa and Vegeta, Piccolo travels to the desert and uses meditation techniques to train himself. After lifting the pyramids with his mind, Piccolo accidentally goes too far and ends up destroying the whole area.
Time Chamber
This is a strange room located somewhere inside Kami’s lookout. When any person stands in the marked out area, they can have their spirits sent to any time or place, but their physical bodies remain in the room. Yamcha, Krillin, Tien and Chaouzu use this as they prepare for the arrival of the Saiyans. They travel 100 years into the past to planet Vegeta where they are badly beaten by two regular Saiyans.
King Kai's Planet
Very small but 10 times Earth's normal gravity and the exercises you are put through make it a great place to train, after Goku trains here he returns to the living world where he is much stronger.
Supreme Kai's Planet
This is 10 times Earth's normal gravity, it has open fields and terrain. Gohan trains with the Z-sword here and becomes much more stronger. The only draw back about this place is that it is sacred ground and only the Supreme Kai and the people he invites on the planet are allowed to be on the planet so it can't really be used to train much.
