1. Getting to Bowser This is real easy, just keep going forward, fighting the Terrapins. Don't use the jump attack on them, though, you'll need it later. 2. Fighting Bowser Don't aim for Bowser- aim for
the Klinklink, the thing that's holding his chandelier up. Hit it with
the jump attack twice, and you've done it. Bowser will fall, then knock
your chandelier down. You jump on him, get ready to untie the Princess,
and a sword crashes through the keep, sending Mario, Princess, and Bowser
flying in different directions. Thus beginning the plot...
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Mario's Pad 1. Talk to Toad You'll fall through Mario's house after returning from the keep. Go outside and talk to Toad, then return to Bowser's Keep. The sword will tell you that the castle belongs to the Smithy gang, and knocks out the bridge. 2. Return to Mario's Pad After that somewhat unpleasant experience, go back to Mario's Pad, and inside the house. Talk to Toad, and you'll explain what happened. He then tells you that you must inform the chancellor at once, and exits. 3. Go to Mushroom Way After you talk to Toad, try to
exit. He'll suddenly come running and hit you. He'll give you a mushroom,
and then tell you how to use items. After that, he'll explain timed hits.
THEN (finally!) you can go to Mushroom Way.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Mushroom Way 1. Rescue Toad, get Experience When you enter, you'll find Toad trapped in a corner with a goomba. First, I recommend that you clear out all the enemies and empty all the treasure boxes in that screen. Then, fight the goomba and rescue Toad, and he'll give you a honey syrup (restores 10 FP) for your effort. 2. Rescue Toad (Again) Hmm, a familar scene. Toad is captured this time by a Koopa Paratroopa!! If you fight the other enemies on the screen or not is your decision, although there is a flower in a treasure box on this screen. Anyways, kill the goomba on the pink flower, and jump when you think the time is right. From there, kill the paratroopa, and Toad will give you a Flower Tab (extends your total FP by 1) 3. Fight Hammer Bros, Rescue Toad (once again!) Toad seems to always get into
trouble. This time, he's been captured by the Hammer Bros!! I recommend
fighting these 2 with at least Level 3. After you beat them up, Toad will
give you their hammer, which is your first weapon.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Mushroom Kingdom 1. Stop, Shop, and Rest! First of all, you should go to
the shop (the building with the spinnish mushrooms on the outside) and
talk to the proprietor. Buy the shirt and pants, and if you have enough
money, the jump shoes, then the antidote pin. Try to have AT LEAST 3 coins
left over, so you can rest. Also, check out the downstairs for a few hidden
treasure boxes.
2. Get a frog coin, Meet the chancellor, and go to the Treasure Room! As soon as you enter the castle
for the first time, you will meet Toad. Run to the end of the hall, and
when he catches up to you, quickly jump on his head and then onto the ledge
over the door. If you do this, you can find a hidden treasure box with
a frog coin inside. Since this is a ONE TIME only deal, I mentioned it
here.
3. Talk to Mallow, chase after Croco! Exit the castle, and you'll see
Mallow chasing after a crocodile (Croco). Croco steals Mallow's Rare Frog
Coin, which Mallow was supposed to use to buy something. Anyways, Mallow
starts to cry, and you go down and talk to him. He'll stop crying, and
will ask if you'll help him catch Croco. Say yes, and he joins your team.
Say no, and, well that's for you to find out.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Bandit's Way 1. Continue to chase Croco... Upon entering Bandit's Way, you'll see Croco, and he'll get away from you. Simply continue to chase him through the first few screens. When you enter the second screen, and you can't move forward, just continue to jump on the blocks; they'll move, allowing you to continue, there's also a hidden treasure box there. On the third screen, retrieve the mushroom from the box in the top right corner. On the forth screen, be sure to get the Invinsibility Star, which allows you to run into enemies and defeat them (you get the Experience points, BUT NOT the coins) and the flower from the treasure boxes. To do this, jump on the block and get the other to rotate. When you're at an angle that you're pleased with, simply jump onto the block that rotated, and the other will rotate. Do this, and aim for both treasure boxes as you go. 2. Corner Croco, get behind him... After you get in the fifth and final screen, Croco will say that he's trapped. To get him to fight you, you must get directly behind him before he turns around. If you did it WRONG, he'll say "What's this? You fools couldn't chase down a pumpkin!" However, if you get it right, he'll eventually "give up", and you end up fighting him to get the coin back. 3. Fight Croco, get the coin BACK! You should be AT LEAST Level 4.
Croco may be hard, but continue to pound him with Fire Orb and (if you
have it) Super Jump attacks. For Mallow, either use him to recover Mario
or the FP, or have him use the Thunderbolt attack. After a while, IF you
beat him, Mallow will get his coin back, and you'll get a Wallet
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Mushroom Kingdom (again) - 1 1. Something's different... The sky's darker now, and you see these bouncing things (Shysters) have more or less taken over. Let's FIND OUT WHAT HAPPENED!!! 2. Return the wallet, save the watchman, explore ALL the houses! First thing's first; go down to
the house in the corner where you'll see a blue-headed mushroom being chased
by a Shyster. Defeat the Shyster, and he'll thank you for the hand, and
ask for the wallet back. When you give it to him, he'll give you a little
something.
3. Go into the Castle Finally, you can enter the castle.
Once you go in, you'll see a shyster chasing Toad across the screen. Beat
the Shyster, then Toad will tell you that everyone's in the princess's
room, and he'll head that way. Continue to follow him, beating the Shysters
as you go, until you reach the Princess's room. A conversation will begin,
and after it's over, answer "yes", to Toad's question, and he'll give you
a Flower Tab. Then, talk to the gray-headed mushroom beside the bed, and
she'll restore your HP and FP. Be sure to save.
4. Enter the throne room, fight Mack! NOW you can enter the throne room.
You'll meet Mack, and his underlings, and then be forced to fight them.
Have Mario concentrate on Mack, with Mallow mainly fighting the underlings.
