Dedicated to Chad

Page Updated

This page is dedicated to, and in loving memory, of my beautiful nephew, Chad Austin McDaniel ..

Chad was born on February 3, 1999. At birth he weighed 7 pounds 4 ounces. Chad was born with a rare condition called Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome. Unfortunately, Chad also had some unforeseen lung problems.

Chad fought like the little warrior he was through 2 surgeries and months on a ventilator.

He lost his battle on Sunday, October 17, 1999 at 3:00 p.m. in his mother's arms... his favorite place to be :-).

Chad will be missed, but his departure will be celebrated by our knowing that he is no longer in pain.

To this end, I dedicate this page in his honor and memory.... Little Chad, we will always love you, little man !!

Little Angels

When God calls little children
to dwell with Him above,
We mortals sometime question
the wisdom of His love.
For no heartache compares
with the death of one small child,
Who does so much to make our world,
seem wonderful and mild.

Perhaps God tires of calling
the aged to his fold,
So He picks a rosebud,
before it can grow old.

God knows how much we need them,
and so He takes but few,
To make the land of Heaven
more beautiful to view.

Believing this is difficult
still somehow we must try,
The saddest word mankind knows
will always be "good bye".

So when a little child departs,
we who are left behind,
Must realize God loves children,
Angels are hard to find.

Chad was baptized 9-28-99 at the Presbyterian Church in Dillon by Dr. John Bumgardner. It was a sweet, beautiful ceremony.
After Chad's hair dried off a little, he even smiled for some pictures !!

Thank you, Dr. Bumgardner, for all that you have done for our whole family... and for being there through this whole ordeal, since the very beginning. You will never know how much we appreciate you and your wife !! All the calls, visits, e-mails and EVERYTHING you have done for ALL of us means so much. On behalf of the entire family, we sincerely thank and love you both !!
