Kbee laid in the infirmary watching Dr.Crovax and Dr.Bashir talking. Dr.Crovax was shaping up well as CMO, when Sati was commanding the Starbase. He looked over and noted she was awake. The two doctors wondered over to the biobed. Dr.Bashir shook his head, " I'm sorry but I was unable to remove the implant. If I had tried it would have blown up and we would have lost you." Kbee frowned, this was not good news. Dr Covax said, " We've informed the Admiralty." Kbee nodded, and began to move. She ached all over and was still tired. "Thats not a good idea, Sir." Before Kbee could give a sarcastic to the two doctors who had chimed in unison at her, Capatin Gibney enetered the Infirmary. He handed Kbee a padd. She read in carefully.

While enroute to Alpha Colony 12-1, we received a hail from the USS Mariner to set course for the other side of Cardassian space, to star chart this region. We had to send a reply that The USS Bata was dispatched to investigate a Priority 1 distress call from Colony Alpha 12-1. The USS Mariner, responds, ??????, but where is the USS Falcon? It did not reply the Mariner's hails. Mean while enroute Acting Chief Engineer CPO T. Hooiveld, was working the engineering section nearly 24hrs a day to try to iron out some warp core, power transfer conduit and environmental problems and fluctuations. This was due early departure from the ShipYards, and with an inexperienced crew, the problems seam worse then they really are. Also the Emergency Medical Holograph was able to work continuous to prepare the Primary and Secondary Sickbays, convert the guest quarters on decks 5 & 6 and one the Shuttlebays into Sickbays, ready for our arrival at Alpha Colony 12-1. I decided to not convert the other two Shuttlebays to Sickbays, due to the possibility that, due to the unstable nature of the planet, the atmosphere may prevent transporter lock on the colonists. I have been worried about to situation on the Colony, what will we find when we arrive there?

USS BATA SHIP'S LOG
The Uss Bata has arrived at Alpha Colony 12-1, to find a planet in turmoil, Sensor sweeps have been tried but due the new composite of the atmosphere they did not work. We hail the planet, through the crackle and static on the screen, we see a mottled, pale, and infected face of the colony's administrator. The Administrator begs our help, and transmits the colony's logs and number of people requiring evacuation. While on the Uss Bata, final checks confirm that all systems are working and shuttlebays, sickbays, temporary sickbays, and transporter rooms are on alert and ready to go. Medical teams are on stand-by. Chief Engineer Hooiveld comes forward to Cmdr Mudra with the few results from the sensor sweep. These show that due to the collapse of the planet, dust and ionic disturbances, the ionosphere has formed a proto-ionic layer, and inconjunction with the storms on the surface, a transporter evacuation would not be possible, this is why the communication was so broken-up. This leaves the evacuation to the shuttles, then when they are clear of the proto-ionic layer, we will transport the survivors across to either the cargo holds, or the sickbays. There will not be enough room aboard the Ship to fit all the colony, so Cmdr Mudra orders a sensor sweep of the nearby systems for a planet that would sustain life, to transport the less and uninjured survivors to. In the next system AEGIS, we found a planet that is suitable. This planet (PHLOX) has no large forms of life on it, it is very suitable for human life, but it is out of transporter range. The decision is made to pull two shuttles from the evacuation and position them in a line between the Uss Bata and PHLOX, to provide a relay transport to the planet surface. Security and engineering teams are sent ahead to the planet to set up protection and hospital areas. In full bio-suits, CPO Johns, security and medical teams are shuttled to the surface. CPO Hooiveld continues to try and improve the communications to the colony through the disturbances. The forward teams reports back to Cmdr Mudra that radiation is high, the air is bearably breathable, and the surface of the planet is breaking up. May buildings and people have already died and been lost. They meet a doctor in the colony who has worked out an theory of the causes of the medical problems but without equipment could not prove or study it. The Medical team with the help of Dr. Tiffany start triaging the survivors and shuttling them to either the sickbays aboard the Uss Bata or on the Planet PHLOX. Cmdr Mudra sends a subspace communication to USC Command to give a situation report and request if any other ships are available to assist with medical crews. USC Command replies that most ships are tied up with the rescue of Admiral Kbee. Shortly after the evacuation started a Type-7 shuttlecraft transmitted a may-day call after being hit but a ion burst from the storms which disabled all of its systems. A rescue was carried out but all that was found was debris from the shuttle and the bodies of the crew and 8 passengers. Cmdr Mudra had the job to send messages to the crews families, which he hoped he would not have to do for at least a few years. The evacuation continued, more survivors are shuttled from the surface, but a added haste has been added as a geological team on the planet have predicted that within 36 hours the air and surface will not be able to sustain life. Dr. Cross is moved to the Research labs on the Uss Bata, where he will be able to isolate the cause and produce a treatment for it, to save more lives. Cmdr Mudra hails the USS Mariner and the USS Akagi to try and find some available ships that can assist, due to the fact that to get all of the colonists off the planet in the 36 hours is impossible just using the USS Bata. He request the assist of any ship, it does not matter what conditions they are in, just as long as they can get to Colony 12-1 within the 30 hours.

Kbee looked up, but before she could answer, Ian told her the answer,"We can be there in twelve hours at Warp 8". "Lets get to the Mariners bridge. And get that authorization for Warp 8 travel."

As the FAdm stood by RAdm Higgins to see what he was going to say from our last talk the FAdm noticed that he had a Datapad and was looking at it hard, FAdm to Akagi......go ahead a voice came back.....what is our status, at current we have main power back online, we have impulse power and shields but no warp speed or weapons we are working on it sir and should have the ship back to combat ready in 2 days......Sir we also have been getting a sub-space message from the USS Bata requesting any ship to help them at the Colony, well send them a communication tell them we are in no shape to help, aye Sir ......

The Quicksilver, still docked at USCA, completed her loading of supplies and minor repairs after the Dominion incident. The matter with the Dominion spy on board is currently being investigated by USC Command, however the Quicksilver has been given the all clear to depart for its assignment at Alpha Colony 12-1, beyond the boundries of explored Federation space.
30 minutes had passed since the Quicksilver left USCA en route for the Alpha Colony 12-1, just beyond the Cardassian border. After a thirty minutes in to flight at Warp 5, the Quicksilver recieved an all call from the USS Batafor help as it streaked through space. "The message is from Commander Mudra of the USS Bata,sir" says the weiry Ensign. RAdm Threats IV listens to the Ensign "Alpha Colony 12-1 is collapsing within 36 hours and they need help fast transporting the civilians of Alpha Colony 12-1 to the new planet".RAdm Threats IV says "Respond to Commander Mudra ,we will be there in 7 hours soon." RAdm Threats says with aggression,"Helmsman,set a course 234 mark 65 maximum warp now ......ENGAGE!!!!!!, Ensign send word to Admiral Paradis that USS Quicksilver is taking cadets on an emeregency mission to save civilians, not in violation of the Prime Directive .and to VAdm Kbee we are on the way streaking towards the sight of Alpha Colony 12-1."

The USS Mariner set out from DS9, after Kbee had said her goodbyes, and thank-you's to all her friends. She especially thanked RAdm Higgins for his help. The USS Mariner diverted to pick up Commodore Sati for Station Delta, and warped their way to the colony. Dropping Off Captain Gibney, to replace her on the same trip. *********************************************************************
