Gale Weathers has been the top reporter through the whole SCREAM horror. It almost seems she's set out to destroy Sidney Prescott's life by telling rumors about her through the television and through her books. Actually, she's just trying to make a living and be a good reporter. She's had a bit of a love affair with Deputy Dewey Riley, but won't sacrafice her career until the end. She was the first to shoot Billy Loomis back in Woodsboro, and she was one of the last to survive at the college. Will she survive in the final addition to the trilogy? I guess we'll have to wait until SCREAM 3 to find out.
COURTENEY COX knows that Gale Weathers has some fences to mend. "Dewey's a little resentful of her, and she has to try her best to win him back," Cox admits. "And she lets Sidney down right away -- the first time she sees her. So pretty much, no one likes her again in this movie." Cox's nakedly ambitious Gale bears little resemblance to Monica, the sweetly neurotic restaurant manager she plays on the hit TV sitcom "Friends," which is currently in it's fourth season. Cox recently starred in the romantic comedy "Commandments," and shared the screen with Jim Carrey in the box-office smash "Ace Ventura: Pet Detective".
