For Netscape browser business, suits may be too late

Blizzard Sues Micro Star
Blizz announced today that it is suing MicroStar, the company that released the SC expansion pack Stellar Forces. Here's the announcement :

"Today, in an effort to protect our brand and to ensure the quality of products purchased by our customers, Blizzard filed a lawsuit against Micro Star Software in connection with the sale and distribution of Stellar Forces, an unauthorized Starcraft add-on product. Blizzard believes that by using Starcraft's campaign editor for commercial purposes, Micro Star has violated the end user license agreement and is in breach of contract.

We believe that we must aggressively combat the sale and distribution of unauthorized add-ons associated with our properties. In our opinion, Stellar Forces meets neither Blizzard's standards nor our customers' expectations. As gamers ourselves, we feel obligated to prevent the sale of unauthorized add-on products that do not add value to the Starcraft experience."

OGR spoke with Susan Wooley (uh oh girl) about this. She states Micro Star, and others, was warned not to do this. Read what she had to add to the announcement here. Hmmmm, I'm starting to wonder whats in the water in California.... yeah yeah I know they got a right to sue, but i'm getting sick of all these lawsuits.

Majestic View is a site i find hard to catagorize. And despite the name it's not a graphics page, although I would view it with the graphics turned on. SC BUG !
Lanhdanan emailed me about this bug. Sorry it's so late but I didn't get around to checking email till today :(

I've talked to some people, and found something interesting: A way to log onto battle.net (without being a spawn) while never having bought the game. And heres how: (I am posting this in hopes blizzard sees it) If you take a real SC CD that has been bought, and spawn it on another computer, and enter in its reg code, and then dupe the CD using a CD-R and reinstalling the game, the game will still have the reg code locked away in the registry, so once you start up battle.net on a duped CD, it will read that reg code, think you bought the game, and since you didnt install it as a spawn, allows you FULL access to b.net.

My Brother's Keeper ?
German court starts CompuServe porn case What is it with lawsuits lately. Prosecutors alleged Felix Somm, 34, former head of the German division of CompuServe on-line service, should be held responsible because CompuServe provided access in Germany to illegal pornographic pictures and Nazi texts that were available via the Internet from computers in other countries. While this is dispicable subject matter, wouldn't it be more just to go after the webmasters themselves?
