Caboolture Capers

A Building Application in the town of Donnybrook was recently delayed because the applicant could not supply the relevant PERCOLATION TEST RESULTS for a Septic System Installation

Donnybrook is pretty well built out in the subject area, and Council SHOULD have known the test results from the surrounding properties.

The Owner dug the required 300x300x300 pit and attempted to fill it with water, so that he could TIME how long it took to drain away.
But he only had Tank Water, and every time he returned with a bucket of water to top up the hole, THE HOLE HAD DRAINED DRY.
He tried for about an hour, but the drainage was SO GOOD he was rapidly running out of his precious water supply.
He couldn't fill the hole - so he couldn't time how long it took to drain away.
He explained this to the Building Inspector, but was STILL REFUSED his permit,
because he had not properly completed his FORM !!!!!

To make matters worse
When they eventually saw reason, and designed his Absorption Trenches.
They located them UPHILL from his Septic Tank,
Even though we had supplied a CONTOUR PLAN and purposly left an area
downstream in front of the house for the trenches to be located.

The Owner rang me to find out where he could buy a PUMP to pump his septic effulent
UP into the Trenches as the Council had requested.
