Dear, Jim, of Space Station Horizon 11 from the Eechowah galaxy,
The year is 4007 and earth is much different than it was in the twentieth century. Now our earth is a toxic wasteland pierced with nuclear winter and giant craters in the place of our once peaceful cities and towns. It all started when Iraq had a small war with America and the entire UN turned on each other. There were numerous bombings scattered across the globe. We practically nuked enough that the only patches of healthy land were underwater. Many people did not live through this total Armageddon. We had one alternetive: to unite and build a colony in space that could survive the devestating environment below. It was called Survival Port 1. Survival Port 1 had everything humans could desire. My great, great, great, great, great Grandfather lived on it. He was second in command at the ops. He was operating the stations thrusters when something hit them with great force. It damaged the hull and structual integrity was degrading. They knew their only hope was to build a space station further into space to avoid other damages. It was called Survival Port 2. The people from Iraq got frustrated living with the Americans because they thought they shouldn't be living with them while they were at war. They moved out and built their own space station. It was called Iraq Independence Port. We never heard from them again. On Survival Port 2 the scientists had everything they needed to research for a Survival Port 3. It would have a much safer and a more high quality environment. Each time a Survival Port was created it was more efficent in some way than the last Port made. When they went to a newly built Survival Port they sold the last Port to some passing MONU. The MONU? Oh, they are a friendly race who are nomads looking for a place to settle. The distance between Survival Ports became a universal measurement. They were called axons. Now we get to Survival Port 14. It had very intelligent environment. We had crafts that could go up to warp 17 and the space station's thrusters were very powerful. We also had scientific vessels that could take samples of the surrounding planets environment. All the tests on the planets that we had conducted had turned out negative. So far, there were no planets that we could dwell on. One day, Survival Port 14 was almost demolished by a group of ZECONWEEKAS and our only choice was to make a Survival Port 15 in a place we had never explored. ZEECONWEEKAS are a race of hostile beings with very advanced technology. It was a very risky chance to take but it was our only hope to save the members of space station: Survival Port 14. We decided to take the risk. While I was rushing out of my room I knew that my life would change forever. While we were leaving Survival Port 14, there were many casualties. Unfortunately, my father was one of them. He was running through laser fire on the way to the exit, and was shot. Even though I was very sad about my father's death, I knew I had to get off of the space station and get to safer space. Soon I was able to lose my sadness in building the new space station, Survival Port 15. Everyone was very excited to have a new home, and so was I. It had all of the usual improvements, and some new ones: more air supply, a better life support system, more hull integrity and shields, and more hydroponics so that we could have more food. This all made us very happy and secure. We have many different alien species on Survival Port 15. One of my best friends has four eyes and my pet is a fish that can hover in mid air. We found it on a planet we were testing for livability. A few cool things about it are that it can breathe oxygen, it can maneuver freely through the air and it can reach speeds of 30 mph. Life here seems to be peaceful, and the people are friendly, I just hope...I just hope nothing goes wrong.
Your Friend Forever,
Phoenix, of Survival Port 15 from the Milky Way galaxy
I, Tony Vargas, have set out on a quest to find the Sacred Monkey. I was told that the Sacred Monkey gave magnificent blessings, clues to your fate and answers questions. I am going to ask him what was the meaning of my life (was I going to accomplish anything unusual or important).
I dedicated most of my time to training for my journey. I trained in my gym jumping off ledges, balancing, climbing, and lifting weights. I have also trained in my outside obstacle course trying to finish it in a certain amount of time. My favorite training course I've been through is the MVT (Multiple-Vehicle Training). I liked to ride the quads, jet skis and snowmobiles.
Right now I am traveling through the desert. I lost my quad to a rock structure so now all I have is my feet to move with.
"What is that structure up ahead?" I thought to myself.
I moved closer. After 5 minutes of walking I found out that it was a gargantuan structure that looked like a temple. I walked inside.
Right away, I felt a rope rubbing on my ankles. I heard a deafening rumble and I saw a boulder rolling towards me! I quickly jumped out of the way as the boulder rolled past. I ran over and went through the opening where the boulder had came out of. I found myself in a room with 5 faces painted on the rounded wall. In the middle of the room there was a mirror. For some reason I turned the mirror so it faced the second face on the wall. I then looked around the room and saw some loose rocks on a wall. I climbed up to them and took them out of the wall. A bright light shined into the room. I blinked my eyes a few times so they could adjust to the light. When I regained vision I found out that the bright light was the sun. It was shining onto the mirror and the mirror was shining onto the face on the wall. Then the mouth of the face opened up (it was a 6 ft. tall face) and I crawled in. I found myself in another room.
Just as I walked in, the walls on both sides of the room began to come towards the center. I saw that the window on the other side of the room was about 15 ft. away. I quickly ran and dove through the window in the wall.
I landed on an alcove above the main room. There was a switch to my left. I pressed it and the wall to my right lifted up. I quickly ran under the wall. Before I was all the way out, the wall started to lower. I rolled then hit the wall opposite the switch. I was next to a door so I walked through it.
I was in a very large room with snakes on the ground. Suddenly the ceiling started to lower. On the ceiling, I noticed monkey bars. I quickly jumped up and grabbed on to the monkey bars and swung my way across the room. I exited through another doorway.
After a long and curvy hallway I came to an alcove on the other side of the main room. This one was higher than the other one I could see across the room. Just now (because I hadn't had time to look before) I saw a large statue in the middle of the room. It was a monkey meditating. Since that was the only thing I saw possible to do something with, I jumped onto the back of the head. There was writing on it. It said: "What can you do to get out of the way?". I then saw a boulder dropping from above. Then I knew the answer. JUMP!!! I quickly jumped to the right and landed on a ledge below the monkey. I looked to the left and saw another lower ledge with an open door. I looked to the right and saw a spike wall enclosing towards me. I quickly thought and jumped to the spike wall in a certain way so that I would not get poked. I climbed up through the spikes and over the wall. I went through a square opening in the stone.
I found myself in a room with sarcophagi lining the wall. Above the barred door at the other side of the room there was a monkey skull. By the sarcophagi there was one torch accompanying each sarcophagus. I started lifting the lids of all of the six sarcophagi to find nothing inside the first 4. When I opened the fifth sarcophagus a mummy crawled out. It locked its eyes on me and I couldn't move. When it turned away to regain it's balance I could move. I quickly opened the sixth sarcophagus and found a torch inside. I immediately used it to light the torch standing next to the fifth sarcophagus. The mummy vaporized. I then lit all the torches in the room. The monkey skull laughed and the door became unbarred so I walked through.
I was in a hallway with stone guards walking up and down it. I jumped behind a low stone barrier at the side of the hall so they wouldn't see me. I saw a small hook hanging from the ceiling. I then remembered that I had two whips with me. I used one to grapple onto the hook. I swung in a circle around the guards. All of then tried to follow me ending up in each of them crashing into each other. They crumbled to pieces and I ran through the door at the end of the hall.
I came into a large room with someone in a chair that was turned away from me. I knew it then and there, that was the Sacred Monkey! He turned the chair towards me and I found out that he was a stone guard! He stood up and started taking stone pieces off of himself. Once they were all off, he was a mummy! He chased me around the room freezing me whenever he could, trying to turn me into a mummy. I ran around a torch stand with hook-like metal designs coming from the center of it. When he came around it one of his wrapping strands caught onto a hook. He started to spin around being unraveled. When he was entirely unraveled his bones stood there for a few seconds then they collapsed and fell to the ground. I saw an open stained glass window. I crawled through.
I was on a ledge outside the temple, high above the ground. It was nighttime by then and I was getting cold. I looked to my left and saw another ledge across from me. There was a large gap between both ledges. Just then I saw a sharp rock coming out of the stone wall near the other ledge. I used my last whip to grapple onto the rock. I swung across to the other ledge. I then saw a small chest. I opened it up to find another whip. I walked through a door to find myself in another room.
This room was a giant room lit with thousands of candles. On a chair sat the Sacred Monkey! He looked wrinkly and old, but I could tell that he had much wisdom.
I began to ask my question, but he raised his hand to silence me.
"You have already answered your question of your life. Isn't it enough what you have accomplished here to answer your other questions? You have shown bravery, wisdom, and intelligence. You have done what only few have accomplished. I need to say no more. You know what you must do," said the Sacred Monkey.
He said that in such an overwhelmingly prophetic way I knew he was right.
I walked home and I still didn't know exactly what he meant. All I know is that when I put my mind to it, I can accomplish many, many, challenging feats.
