The Haddock Gallery

CONTINUED

Thomas Francis and Helen (Redrow) Haddock, my grandparents, were married June 20, 1924 at the Methodist Church at Five Points in Billingsport, NJ. At first they lived with Thomas J and Mame on Ferry Avenue. Helen Martha (my mother) and Harriet(Sis) were born there for sure and maybe Mary but I'm not certain. Next they lived on Sommers Row in a small cottage on the lane. They finally moved to 29 Sommers Row, the big house at the end of the lane. In the picture (above right) are shown L-R Thomas Howard (Newt) held by my grandmother, Harriet Elizabeth (Sis), Helen Martha (my mother) and Mary Anna. I'm not sure if they had moved to the big house shown behind them yet or still lived in one of the smaller houses on the lane to the big house. All that was left when I was growing up was the big house. According to calculations another girl Cecilia (probably napping) would have been born at this time. This family would grow to eighteen children all reaching adulthood!

My grandmother was born Helen Redrow, on August 5th, 1908,to ASA and Ella May (McKay) Redrow, in New Sharon, New Jersey. She was the second of nine children who were:
Harriet born 10 April, 1906- died 17 March, 1985, married William Haines.
Helen born 5 August, 1908 died 15 December, 2000.

John born 1917 - died 1942, married Gladys A. Dankel.
Stanley (Cotton) born 2 February, 1919 - Died 27 July, 1983, married Emma M Schomber.
