Welcome to the website of A3SFIT!
The American Alumni Association of the Swiss Federal Institutes of Technology (A3SFIT) was formally established and incorporated as not-for-profit association in December 1993. (see History)
Membership in A3SFIT is open to all EPFL or ETHZ graduates (diploma or Ph.D.) who reside in the United States of America or Canada.
The following goals and action plans of the Association are being pursued and implemented:
- Forming local chapters in the USA and Canada, each aimed at fostering networking, social gatherings, and friendly relations among Members within a certain geographical region. To date, seven local chapters (see Local Stamms)
- Disseminating relevant information to all Members via the A3SFIT Newsletter, published three times per year as link among the Members. (see Newsletter)
- Assisting alumni in the USA and Canada while defending and promoting common interests of the Membership.
- Maintaining open dialogue with the Leadership of EPFL and ETHZ - including each of their respective alumni associations A3-EPFL and ETH-Alumni.
- Advise, counsel and assist members as well as EPFL/ETHZ alumni residing outside of the USA and Canada in the search of professional employment within the USA and Canada. (see Links and Hot Topics)
- Promoting the recognition of the EPFL/ETHZ diploma as equivalent to a Master of Science degree. This goal is specifically stressed at every opportunity. (see Diploma Recognition)

An elected Board of Trustees manages the Association.
A3SFIT is a National Association of ETH-Alumni (ETHZ) and A3-EPFL (EPFL). Its members are automatically members of the appropriate umbrella Association (ETH-Alumni or A3-EPFL) and vice-versa.
