Creation: I-385 appeared between 1962-64. Originally it ran only north of I-85. | Adjustments: In 1985, I-385 was extended south as new construction to Mauldin, then replaced the US 276 freeway from Mauldin to I-26. The US 276 freeway goes back to at least 1961 (RMcN Atlas shows it, though incorrectly as I-26) Improvements: 4 lane freeway since inception. North of I-85 is slated to be widened to 6-lanes. Comment: I-385 did not really get an upgrade on the US 276 freeway, which is clearly early 60's vintage. I-385 is the only interstate in SC to have a state highway multiplex, which it does with SC 14. |

Creation: I-385 Business spur has been signed since at least 2000 (photo), but I'm guessing it's older. Runs as it does today.
| Adjustments: None Improvements: Multilaned since inception. Comment: 385 Business Spur runs on E. North Street. |
