Information
Access to the specialised Resource Centre for all.
A free information pack is available on request.
Posters and up-to-date information are available in most community languages.
Information enquires are welcomed and treated as strictly confidential.
Support
Social, psychological and medical support is offered whenever possible to both affected individuals and their carers.
Access to a 24 hour answering machine.
Education
Education and training are offered to local community groups, primary health care staff, and those involved in educational establishments and anyone working in the community.
Awareness raising activities involving the community at risk.
The project has been developed as a specialised Resource Centre.
Screening and Counselling
The service aims to promote voluntary screening and offer genetic counselling to all those screened and found to be a healthy carrier of a trait or the disorder.
Referral from all sources are welcomed, as well as self-referrals.
Multi-lingual counselling material is also available.
