June 11 - Inacurate Instincts

TF.N quotes more from the script of Episode 2. Obi-Wan and Anakin discuss some events that have transpired and a character they've been dealing with early on in the movie. Highlight to read the spoilers:

ANAKIN
Not another lecture, Master. At least not on the economics of politics. It's too early in the morning... and besides, you're generalizing. The Chancellor doesn't appear to be corrupt.

OBI-WAN
Palpatine's a politician, I've observed that he is very clever at following the passions and prejudices of the Senators.

ANAKIN
I think he is a good man. My instincts are very positive about...

June 5 - Documentary Screencaps

Here are some screencaps of the latest documentary from StarWars.com.

May 29 - Yoda Is The Master

TF.N scores big with awesome spoilers involving the end sequence of Episode 2. This is pretty big news so don't highlight if you think you might regret it!

Lucas and McCallum weren't kidding when they said Yoda was the 'Master'. We'll finally get to see what they are aluding to, and on opening night, make sure you bring some pillows to put on the floor, so when your jaw drops, it doesn't break. In short, Yoda's arsenal knows no bounds. That's why he is head of the Jedi Council, and why Mace enjoys a distant second in the standings.

Let's begin with the setting, we're in the Geonosis Hanger and there is a crane that hangs from the roof. Yoda is intent on fighting with Dooku and wants to end him, right there and then. Obi-Wan and Anakin are both out of commission at the time, but they are safe for now. You see, Anakin is only semi-conscious at the time and Obi-Wan has been beaten soundly too. They are still recovering while Yoda does his stuff.

The SUPERBATTLEDROIDS guard Dooku's Solar Sailor in the hangar. Eight of them, or so, though unfortunately for them they do not get to participate in the battle. When Yoda arrives his presence alerts the Superbattledroids. All of them turn to fire, but before they can get off any shots, Yoda calmly raises his hand and the droids are sent hurtling into the far wall. It is almost like Yoda is either in Council mode or Battle mode. Obviously the latter is more draining and Dooku already realises it is a battle he can not win.

Yoda's first words to Count Dooku are compelling. No interest in contests, do I have. he says, the cool little Master. Dooku begins the attack by charging in and raining down blows. Yoda calmly stands there and defends without much effort until Dooku wears himself out! That's when we see the real master go to work ...

Yoda uses only one lightsaber, but he is lightening quick. And Yoda is at one point up on Dooku's shoulders! He's not there for very long, just enough to scare the stuffing out of Dooku. Yoda towels up Dooku and forces him into a corner. His lightsabre is sent reeling. Dooku is down for the Count! Yoda leaps onto his shoulders and utters the infamous line The end for you, Count, this is. Yoda raises his mini lightsabre and prepares to skewer the Sith Lord's head. ...not yet...

Mustering his strength, Dooku dislodges the Jedi Master and, using the force, brings one of the ceiling cranes crashing down on the fallen Jedi. In the blink of an eye Yoda is underneath the massive structure holding it up, concentrating, whilst in the background Tyranus kicks his Interstellar Solar Sailor into gear and escapes the rocky planet.

That crane never actually lands directly on Anakin and Obi-Wan, as Yoda, seeing that it is going to cause some serious damage if it does, flashes to the other side of the hangar to keep the crane from impacting. But that was the break that Dooku needs to high tail it outta there. Dooku's ship fires up and the Sith escapes before it hits the fan.

He grabs the controls of the vessel and survives to fight another day.

Here's some of the exact details from the end of scene 161 of the movie, as we near the dramatic conclusion of Episode II:

YODA closes his eyes and concentrates. ANAKIN is unconcious, and OBI-WAN tries to get out from under the crane. The fallen crane trembles and starts to lift. Behind it, the sound of the Sail Ships's engines are heard starting up.

YODA concentrates harder. Slowly, the crane rises. The SOUND OF THE ENGINES increases. YODA exerts every acrap of his powers. The crane lifts clear of ANAKIN and is thrown to the ground.

DOOKU ' S Sail Ship takes off. OBI-WAN and ANAKIN struggle to the exhausted YODA, but it is too late. The Sail Ship rises into the air and flies away.

How's that for exciting! It looks like Episode 2 is going to be one interesting movie!

April 11 - Goodies from TOS

StarWars.com has completely redone their site. I must say they have done an excellent job. One of the first things I noticed was the character list. I was happy to find the following:

Christopher Lee is Count Dooku
Susie Porter is Hermione Bagwa
Veronica Segura is Corde
Rose Byrne is Dorme
Susie Porter is Hermione Bagwa

I was even happier when I saw new pictures for Episode 2. I love the Anakin and Padme one! And what's this, Obi-Wan has a blue saber!?!?! I thought for sure he would take Qui-Gon's green one. Perhaps this is just the Official Site's guess as to what color it will be. We'll see! Here are the pics!

March 25 - Dialogue Featuring Padme

This news has been out a while and I forget who first came out with it. It is a pretty big spoiler so highlight for the spoilers.

Padme has landed on Coruscant in order to vote on the issue of creating a clone army. In an attempt to assassinate Senator Padme, the senator's decoy, Corde, is mistaken for Padme and is fired upon. This dialogue takes place shortly after the assassination attempt.

PADMÉ
Cordé.....

CORDÉ
...I'm sorry, M'Lady... I'm... not sure I...

PADMÉ
No... No... No..!

TYPHO
M'Lady... You are still in danger.

PADMÉ
I should not have come back.

TYPHO
This vote is very important. You did your duty and Cordé did hers. Now come. M'Lady, please !

This is the first of two rumored assassination attempts. For those of you who are wondering, Typho is pretty much a replacement character for Panaka. He acts as Padme's bodyguard and also has the title Captain. For a picture of Captain Typho click here.

Cool stuff, huh? Check back for more Episode 2 dialogue.

March 21 - Episode 2 Dialogue, Jar Jar Returns!

I was looking over at TheForce.Net message boards and I was pleasantly surprised to find that one of TF.Ns webmasters released a little secret. It's dialogue from Episode 2 that I haven't heard anywhere else. Highlight for the spoilers.

JAR JAR
Mesa busten wit happiness seein yousa again, Annie. Deesa bad times, bombab times.

CAPTAIN TYPHO leaves.

This scene obviously must take place shortly after Anakin and Jar Jar meet again. The following report may happen around the same time as the previous. Again, megasite TheForce.Net was the first to report this. Highlight.

ANAKIN
"She didn't even recognize me, Jar Jar. I thought about her every single day since we parted. And she's forgotten about me completely."

JAR JAR
Shesa happy. Happier den mesa see-en her in long time.

OBI-WAN
Anakin, you’re focusing on the negative again. Be mindful of your thoughts. She was glad to see us. Now lets check the security here.

ANAKIN
Yes, my master.

Now, I would tend to think that Padme recognizes Anakin but maybe she just doesn't say so, or maybe she doesn't think she needs to, or maybe I'm over analyzing.

Put these two reports together and it seems to make pretty good sence. Also, I'm going to tell you that Jar Jar most likely will have a bigger role in Ep. 2 than everyone seems to think. Ahmed Best traveled to Tunisia, Spain, Italy, and of course to Sydney. That means Jar Jar will have scenes on Naboo, Tatooine, and Coruscant. There you go!

February 5 - Episode 2 Action Figure Pictures

StarWars.Com has updated tonight with some really cool pictures of future action figures for Episode 2. The images show us some cool details about the costumes that characters will be wearing. They are not painted but they still look awesome. Click here to see them.

February 2 - The Rest of the Scroll

TheForce.Net has a follow up report on the opening scroll. This report however has the entire text. Here it is:

There is unrest in the Galactic Senate. Several hundred solar systems, under the leadership of the Rebel Leader, Count Dooku, have declared their intentions to secede from the Republic.

This separatist movement has made it difficult for the limited number of Jedi Knights to maintain peace and order in the galaxy.

Senator Amidala, the former Queen of Naboo, is returning to Coruscant to vote on the critical issue of creating an army to assist the overwhelmed Jedi...

I tend to believe that this is the real deal. After all TF.N is the best source for spoilers.

January 26 - Opening Crawl Revealed?

Star Wars Union has a really cool report on the possible first paragraph of the opening crawl for Episode 2. This probably isn't the real thing but highlight anyway:

There is unrest in the Galactic Senate. Several hundred solar systems under the leadership of the rebel leader, Count Dooku, have declared their intentions to secede from the Republic.

Pretty neat, but take it with a grain of salt.

January 13 - Spoiler Marathon!!

Aldera.Net Have been reporting spoilers like crazy lately. This is part of there Spoiler Marathon. Hightlight below for a description of the battle at the end of the film.

Geonosis: a planet run by an alien known as Poggle the Lesser. The inhabitants of the planet specialize in making droid armies for the Trade Federation. These aliens look like a cross between Sebulba and Battle Droids. They also have four thin wings on their backs similar to a dragonfly's. Count Dooku has also allied himself with the forces on Geonosis.

As we return the action on Geonosis, Obi-Wan has been captured and ordered to be terminated by Darth Sidious. Dooku, Jango, Poggle, and a Neimodian are watching the Reek devour slaves in an arena, and decide to feed Obi-Wan to the Reek as well. (The Reek Chevy Suburban-sized monster with three horns - click here for a great picture by Guy Lagacé (don't click that picture if you don't want to see a spoiler).) They release Obi-Wan into the arena and the crowd roars in great anticipation of the Jedi's death.

At that moment, Mace Windu enters the V.I.P. box where Dooku and friends are enjoying the show. He taps Dooku on the shoulder who turns to see the Jedi Master holding his lightsaber to Jango's throat. Then thousands of Jedi Knights burst through the gates into the arena and into the stands amongst the large crowd. The stadium lights up in a rainbow of lightsabers and the action begins. But as the Jedi free Obi-Wan from the Reek, thousands of advanced droids roll in as well and begin firing upon the Jedi. Mace Windu dodges their fire and ends up jumping into the arena floor.. he is pursued by Jango Fett. The two men engage in battle for quite some time, with the Reek charging both of them in a fury of confusion and rage. For a detailed description of the battle between Mace and Jango, check out the Virtual Edition.)In the end, Mace Windu decapitates Jango as little Boba Fett watches on in horror.

Meanwhile Count Dooku has slipped out of the arena and begins heading for his ship. Obi-Wan chases after him with lightsaber in hand. In the sky above Geonosis, explosions begin as Republic forces begin assaulting the Droid Control ship...

As the action continues, Slave 1 takes to the sky and flees. It's passengers? Only one - young Boba Fett.

Awesome!! This movie is going to be so cool. For more detailed scenes like this head to Aldera.Net.

January 8 - Who Puts 3PO's Coverings On?

A short while back TheForce.net had a report that tells a little about 3PO. It is a spoiler so hightlight:

We've all seen Episode II pictures of C-3PO with his plating on, this is where he gets it. In the Lars' Garage on Tatooine, Padme completes C-3P0 by applying his plating while Anakin is out in the desert.

Pretty cool stuff!!

December 29 - Select 25 Anaylisis

Guy Lagace sends in his thoughts about what the latest Select might actually be. The report contains potential spoilers so please highlight.

I believe that the planet shown on the new select is Geonasis. It's very difficult to reach this planet because it's surrounded by an asteroďd field (An excellent place to carry out the dark plans of Sidious and Dooku). Also, this image confirms the chase between Obi and Jango through the asteroids before arriving on Geonasis.

Its definatley possible. The first time I saw the image I thought that it looked like a planet sitting in a bowl. I think I like the asteroid field idea a little better. Click here for the Select picture gallery.

December 24 - Rain Battle Revealed

December 21 - Ewan McGregor Talks Episode 2

TF.N has a cool report about Ewan McGregor and what he thinks about the Episode 2 script. He was just on Barry Norman's film review of the year 2000 on British TV. In it he was asked about EP2. Here is a snippet.

Barry: "Tell me about the new Star Wars. I hope you getter a bigger part in this one than the previous one."

Ewan: "Yeah. In the new one I kind of have a story of my own and branch off a bit. I'm mainly wet and on my own. That's mainly what I had, four months on my own and soaking wet. Can't tell you too much."

Barry: "Why are you wet?"

Ewan avoids this by saying: "It's a much better script than the first one. Not that, that wouldn't be hard."

Barry: "Well I'm glad you said it."

Ewan: "It was very dissapointing the first one I think, and this one has a better script."

Very cool report. I know some people didn't like Episode 1 as much as they thought they would, but I loved it. If Episode 2 is "much better" then it's going to rock!

December 11 - Episode 2 Call Sheets

Remember a while back when those supposed Call Sheets hit the net? Well the Spanish Star Wars site SithNet has got some more of them. The most interesting of which, #3, has some great spoilers. see if you can catch them. Or just highlight below:

It describes a scene where Ki-Adi-Mundi and Plo Koon raid a Trade Federation ship. It also has reference to many hologram scenes.

Wow great stuff!!

December 11 - A Snippet of Dialogue

A couple of TF.N's sources say that they know a line in Episode 2. It takes place while they are training and Anakin is goofing around.

Highlight for more:

Obi-Wan says, "You'll be the death of me, Anakin." Hah! Little does he know. This scene reportedly takes place before they enter the infamous nightclub.

One of the cool things about the prequels is all the foreshadowing and irony. This will be a great scene!

December 7 - Episode 2 Stills!!!

StarWars.Com comes through with some pictures from actual footage. Check out these amazing pics at the Select Photos Page or hit the thumbnails below.

December 5 - New Character

Prequel Spoilers has come up with some information about a new character in Episode 2. I'm not sure how reliable this report is, but since news is slow, I thought I'd post it.

Highlight to read:

New Character: Adavë Dis'Frasado
"One of my favorite characters!! He is only in a couple of scenes but I reckon he will become very much the Boba Fett of the prequels. Not in regards to what he does, but in regards to cult status. A small, but important role, and a very funky costume. He is Count Dooku's assistant. (well, to be more accurate, Dis'Frasado believes he works for Dooku but in reality he is but a slave). Cloning, as you know, is nothing new in the republic. To enable the production of an army in a short timeframe though new fast cloning technology must be built. Adavë Dis'Frasado is the one who has created new technology which allows for VERY rapid clone growth, whilst retaining mental abilities. The technology also allows for subconcious preprogramming of the clones to a certain extent..." I didn't believe it at first (the name is wierd), but other sources have confirmed this! Not only that, but "Dis'Frasado" apparently means "disguise/costume" in Spanish.

November 28 - Jackson Talks

Samuel L. Jackson talked with the Philadelphia Inquirer and revealed a little about Ep2.

And in March, in Australia, he'll be doing some additional work on a little thing called Star Wars: Episode II. Jackson promises that his role - that of Jedi master Mace Windu - is vastly expanded over the few minutes of his screen time in Episode I - The Phantom Menace. He also promises a lot more action.

"Definitely," says the Star Wars fan - who remembers lining up outside a Times Square moviehouse when the first film opened in 1977. "This is a much more exciting story. It's closer to the first one that we saw in terms of its adventurous scope."

Again, Jackson smiles, and makes a reassuring promise. "And there's not so much Jar Jar Binks."

So it looks like the fans will get what they wanted, less Jar Jar and more action. Cool!

November 20 - Episode 2 Info

This report comes from Aldera.Net and is full of potential spoilers. So highlight to read:

"How does Episode II end?
People on set are dishing out the story that Anakin bursts into Poggle the Lesser's planet in search of Padmé who has been kidnapped. In a heated lightsaber battle, Anakin for some reason snaps, turns on his master, and embraces the dark side. The reasons why or who's involved in the battle don't really matter at this point.

Now, how likely is that to happen?
I trust the source. A few other sites have also reported a similar ending where Anakin snaps mid-battle so I know it's not bantha poodoo - those scenes were shot in Australia! But does it makes sense with the story? Well, if Anakin does turn at the end of Episode II will he ever see Padmé again? Very unlikely. Padmé won't fall in love with a dude who's turned to the dark side. If he does turn in the end, he MUST have done the hibbity dibbity with Padmé while they were on Naboo. I know most of the love story occurs on Naboo and there are some romantic settings. But the Naboo stuff is about half way through the movie. I really doubt Anakin and Padmé will knock boots this early in the film - that would be terrible love story telling.

Premarital sex in Episode II?
Extremely unlikely. I very much doubt Lucas would never have Luke and Leia's mother and father not get married. The media would be on him like flies on bantha poodoo if he did that. It would look more like a "fling" than a love story. That being the case, Anakin cannot turn in Episode II.

What makes sense for an Episode II ending....
Anakin tastes the dark side of the Force (hatred, aggression) while he's alone on Tatooine. That is 100% truth. It is his first real sense of overwhelming power, and he obviously likes it. The quick and easy solution to power and strength. So what would he do in a situation where his mates are in trouble and, more importantly, his sweetheart has been captured? He's gonna use that quick and easy path to saver her. So, he does. To me, that explains the "snap" that people on set were telling me about. But if he starts fighting his master (Obi-Wan), which is what these spies say, how can he not turn? Well, one spy down under told me that at the end of Episode II, Anakin is a big hero. He won the war for the Jedi and saved Padmé. The only way I see that he can both fight his master and at the same time be a hero is if he deceives his opponents (Dooku and Sidious) into THINKING he's turned on Obi-Wan. Then when Obi-Wan and CO get away, Anakin grabs his girl and flees.

I am fairly certain that Episode II ends with the wedding of Anakin and Padmé. The Jedi allow it, but only because they have seen the power Anakin possesses and fear his potential to turn on them for real. This also gives Lucas the ability to insinuate that Anakin and Padmé tear it up between the sheets at some point between Episode II and III. That way he doesn't have to show it on screen. I am also about 79% sure that Anakin becomes extremely arrogant at the end. For years he studied the Jedi way, but when he tried it his own way - using anger and aggression - he kicked butt. Why should he listen to them anymore? He now knows he's more powerful than any of them."

There have been several rumors that he will turn at the end of the film but I tend to agree that this will not fully happen in this film. It is way to early in the prequels for this to happen.

Mark my word. Anakin will not turn until Episode 3. But a cool rundown anyway.
