Believe it or not, there is more to Stargate than just Daniel alone. This page is NOT dedicated to them however. It is dedicated to their relationship with Daniel...well we have to have daniel involved! I've said it before I'll probably say it again this is not really a good SG1 page...the web already has plenty of them....try some of the ones in my links. |
Colonel Jack O'Neill
The leader of SG1. He has been married to Sara. Had a son, Charlie, who died whilst playing with Jack's gun. It broke apart Jack and Sara and left Jack so upset he was willing to commit suicide on the first Abydos mission (in the movie)! He has an interesting relationship to "Danny-boy" (remember only jack is allowed to use that). They have their arguments....quite a lot of them (see One Small Step for an unbelievably good example) but are also really close. In Children of the God's Jack said "Jackson was a scientist, he sneezed a lot, basically he was a geek!" He calls Our beloved a geek quite often. Forever in a day is one of my favourite examples. However they are also quite close, leading to the idea of the JackDaniels. I like to think that they're just good friends. Jack normally seems to prefer keeping his feeling to himself and we get the distinct feeling that he's not big on the whole touchy-feely emotion thing. Despite this In "Fire and Water" Jack was really, really upset when he thought Daniel was dead, upset enough to play a couple of hockey rounds with General Hammond's car. He was also really sweet during the memorial service. Saying "As a member of SG1 Daniel Jackson was our voice and our conscience. He's a very couragous man....a good man. For those of us lucky to have known him, he was also a friend." aaahhhhhh!! Daniel darling has less of a problem with emotion (talk about the perfect guy!). In "The Fifth Race" he said, talking about Jack "I can't leave hm and I won't!" Keeping in mind that this is Daniel and he is ALWAYS enthusiastic about going off-world but in this case would rather stay with Jack....okay that's sweet. There are other really cute scenes between them. One of my (and probably everyones) fave is at the end of "The Serpent's Lair" when Jack calls Daniel 'Space Monkey'. In 'Absolute Power' Jack says Daniel can be "a little odd" but that he doesn't believe he could actually hurt anyone. In "The Devil you know" during Daniel's 'interrogation' Jack (well Jack from daniel's memory) says "I may not believe you but I do always believe in you" another ahhhhhhh is deserved I think! |
Major Sam Carter
Major Sam Carter. Her mother died in a car accident when she was about 15. It tore her family apart, she eventually forgave her father, Jacob who is now joined with the Tok'ra Selmac. In "Seth", they both made up with her brother Mark Sam and Daniel. Well practically the first thing she said to him was "I knew I'd like you!" That pretty much sums it up. I know there are Daniel/Sam shippers out there, I am not one of them! I think they are just team mates and very good friends. In "Holiday" they were rather close. She 'ordered' him to not die on her. She was holding his hands a lot and seemed very close to tears. "What's wrong here is Daniel is dead"...that was her contribution to "Fire and Water". Yes Sam I think I can safely say we all agree with you, Daniel dying would be very wrong!! In "Legacy", like "Holiday" Sam seemed to be in real pain whilst watching Daniel lose his mind. |
Teal'c
Teal'c is Jaffa "Big guy, gold embelm on his forehead, Goa'uld in his stomach. You can't miss him"-A Danny description! Teal'c used to be the First Prime of Apophis (bascally someone important) but he left that all behind including his family (his wife and son R'yac) to help SG1 free his people from salvary and worshipping the Goa'uld as Gods. This was a ideal he picked up from his instructor Bra'tac, who has only made an apperance in three (??) episodes, as far as I know, but always makes for rather intersting viewing! Teal'c was there when Sha're was chosen as a host. He was there when The Goa'uld Ammonet was implanted in Sha're. He managed to get himself trapped in Thor's Hammer resulting in Daniel having to destroy what, at the time, he believed to be the only way to save Sha're. Oh and a minor point he Ammonet taking Sha're along for the ride. For his part, seems to me to be a quite large part, he probably feels a lot of guilt. However Daniel, being the unbelievably sweet guy he is,continually forgives him. In "Corai" he insisted that Teal'c would gladly sacrifice his own life for Sha're's. By the end of "Forever in a day" He seemed to have adapted the "Teal'c you did the right thing" slogan that everyone continously repeated. Oh Teal'c also killed Rothman (I know you're thinking Jack probably wanted to do that right!). But Rothman...Robert and Daniel were friends "I wish it was a transportation device I could use it to go find Daniel he's my friend too you know!" and Teal'c killed him (admittedly he had a Goa'uld within him at the time) but Teal'c killed him!!! Another one of Daniel's friends that Teal'c killed! Just in case you missed my point Teal'c KILLED Rothman!!!(sorry Teal'c...I love you really but STOP hurting my Daniel). But Danny and Teal'c still seem fine so once again this amazing guy forgave Teal'c, a member of his team, his friend and self-appointed body-guard (probably a side effect of all that guilt!) |
Major General George Hammond
General Hammond is commander of the entire base. According to him no one even sneezes near the Stargate without him getting a full report.....(poor danny babe better keep those allegies in check!) He has two grand-daughters, Kyla and Tessa, which I guess implies more family too. He's very devoted to the family, he was willing to retire from the stargate mission in order to protect his family. During Series One, they seemed to have quite a few 'differences of opinion' for the same reason Jack and Daniel did. Danny wants to spent more time evaluating the culture of each planet they visited. This does seem to have lessened with time. I guess they've gotten used to each other. In "Crystal Skull" whilst talking to his youngest grand daughter, Kyla, he calls Daniel "a very good friend" An antropologist/archeologist/linguist and a General in the US military very good friends? It could only happen in Stargate SG1!! |
Dr. Janet Frasier
Janet is the Chief Medical officer on the base. She was married but isn't anymore. She has adopted a little girl, Cassandra, who SG1 found on the planet Hanka alone after Nurti (a Goa'uld) had destroyed it and all the other inhabitants. Not much of a relationship except for poor danny spents a lot of his time in the infirmary. There are Daniel/Janet shippers out there. I don't have anything angainst them but personally am not a big fan and I don't think that there is much evidence to support this. If anyone finds any please let me know and I'll add it! |
Dr. Catherine Langford
Catherine is not really a part of the regular team but has always been one of my fave characters (yes they are ALL my faves!) so I thought Catherine deserved a mention. Her father found the Stargate and was trying to figure out what it was in 1945. A member of his team was Ernest Littlefield, a scientist and Catherine's Lover. He went through the gate in 1945 but Catherine thought he'd died in an accident. Catherine enlisted Daniel's help in solving the gate and they became quite close. Before the first mission to Abydos she gave him her good luck charm. In "Torment of Tantalus" she seemed a little upset that Daniel had taken so long to tell her he was back from Abydos and the Stargate project was open once again. In his defense Daniel DID tell her even though Jack recommended against it and General Hammond was furious-ish! |
