Author's Notes: This takes place after "Becoming, Part 2" and it's my interpretation of how Spike and Drusilla fell apart.

Part 1- The Escape

Spike kept his gaze straight forward, not daring to ease his foot off of the gas. His car blindly plummeted forward, shaking and pleading with its owner to keep it under control. Spike swerved the steering wheel to the side to cut a quick turn, and looked down at his unconscious beauty cradled at his side. He saw a sign on the road a distance ahead, "Now leaving Sunnydale. Come back soon!" Yeah, right. Spike would Never come back to this desolate town. This town is where Everything had fallen apart.

Spike's car rolled past the sign, and he held Dru's still body close to him for comfort. So much had happened in this town, so much had fallen apart. He never wanted to see it again.

The town was Boca Del Infeirno, or the Hellmouth. Spike originally brought Dru there because he hoped the energy from the Mouth of Hell would restore her back to full health. Before that, they had been in Prauge and an angry mob had attacked His Drusilla. He managed to pull her out, but they had done a lot of damage to her and had left her very weak.

Sunnydale was also the town that held within its invisible walls the Slayer. Spike had killed two slayers in his existence, and he thought this one wouldn't prove to be any more of a problem than the others. He was wrong.

This Slayer had ruined everything for Spike. When they first arrived, Spike promised his Drusilla that he would kill the Slayer. He failed. Then that damned Slayer brought Dru's sire back, and they would flirt. . he made Dru forget about the bond that her and Spike shared. Angel and Dru were going to destroy the world. Spike hated Angel for taking Drusilla away from him, taunting and teasing her in the worst way. He thought that the only way he'd get Dru back was to get rid of Angel, but in order to do that, he had to team up with the Slayer. Dru was not happy with him for doing so, but he didn't keep his end of the bargain anyway. Only moments ago, he left Angel and the Slayer alone to fight to one of their deaths.

And now, he and Dru were blindly escaping to save their lives. He glanced down again at his sleeping princess. What would she say when she woke up?

The sun finally began to set behind the clouds in the distance of the nameless highway of oblivion. Spike smiled with slight relief. At least it would be night out soon. He and Dru could be outside. And they could hunt.

Drusilla began to stir. Spike slowed down a little bit and glanced at her, taking in an unneeded breath of concern. He watched her intently, worried about what she was going to do. Dru blinked her eyes, narrowing them at the waking sight of Spike. She shook her head and sat up in the passenger seat, refusing to meet his eyes. He gulped.

"Pet?" He mumbled, glancing over at her yet again. She turned her head to look out the window, silent. "Ducks?" He tried again. Nothing. Spike turned to the road, and noticed without interest that they were inside of a small town. "Want to bed down for the night?" He asked her, hoping for some sort of reaction, some little sign. Still nothing.

Spike saw a sign for a cheap motel, and he slowed the car down and pulled into the almost empty lot. Glancing once again to make sure the sun had completely set, he opened his car door and stepped out with false confidence. He scampered over to the other side and opened Dru's door. Her eyes were on him, but they had a far off sparkle. He knew that she wasn't seeing him. She was seeing something inside of her head.

Spike held out his hand to her, hoping she'd take it to exit the car. Drusilla stiffened slightly and edged away from Spike, shooting her glare right into his surging pupils. He took a step back, taken a bit by the savage hatred that she was directing towards him. He looked down in shame and fear. "Ducks, please don't be angry with me. I 'ad to do it. For you. Angel was taking you away from me." Drusilla suddenly stood up, and roughly pushed him to the side.

"Don't look at me!" She shouted. Spike cleared his throat in anticipation. "Oi don't loike you any more. You 'urt your princess." She said plainly. Spike kept his eyes up, forcing himself not to break down. He loved her, he really did. He couldn't bear to have her hating him.

"Pet, I didn't hurt you. Angel did. I saved you from him." Drusilla whirled around on him, completely vamped out and full of rage. She brought her hand up to her face and dragged her nail harshly across her cheek, exposing a nasty cut. She scooped up the oozing blood and flung a few drops at Spike.

"You .. were jealous. Of Moi Angel." She looked up at the night sky and giggled with craze. "Moi Angel was going to destroy the world. Make all the people . .gone all gone. An' kill the Slayer. 'E was going to kill the Slayer, because you couldn't."

Spike temporarily hung his head. Part of what she said was in fact true. He remembered when he promised her he’d kill the Slayer. He remembered the day he tried. But this Slayer, she had been different. This Slayer had a devoted mother, a devoted Watcher and devoted friends. And the little piss-ants guarded her with more protection than Jimmi Hoffa.

Spike's eyes snapped up again, he couldn't let Dru think she had a point. She'd never let it go then. "Dru, I was going to kill the Slayer. I 'ad a plan, y'know. But you 'ad to get all upset, and fight with me, fight with Your Li'l Spike, and then I couldn't kill the Slayer."

Dru suddenly leapt forward and rammed him savagely, and Spike plummeted towards the pavement. He hit it harshly, but he had no time to recover because Dru was on top of him, raking at his face and screaming in uncontrollable rage. Spike closed his eyes tight as her nails came at him, and he blindly grasped for her wrists. "DRU!" He yelled. "STOP!" He finally got a good grip on her wrists and held them away from his face. She screamed out in rage and struggled against his hold, but that only made him grip tighter.

"Owowwow . ." She moaned, and slumped down in defeat. Spike untangled his legs and rose up, but he still kept a grip on Dru's wrists. She looked down.

"Now, are you ready to stop 'urting Daddy?" Spike said as calmly as he could. She made no motions. Very carefully, he let go of her wrists and her arms hung limply at her sides. Spike looked around quickly to make sure that no one had seen their little catfight, and was relieved to find the parking lot vacant.

"Now then, are you 'ungry?" Dru lightly shook her head no. Spike shifted his weight and tried to look into her eyes. "You sure, pet?" Drusilla remained still. Spike let out a sigh of confusion and annoyance. "Alright then ducks, you want to get a room for the night?" Drusilla still didn't move. Spike shook his head, and grabbed the car keys off the ground. He looked one more time at Dru, and walked over to the office.

Spike led Drusilla into the motel and quietly closed the door behind him. "Well," he commented, "The world didn't end." Drusilla's head snapped up.

"The Slayer, moight 'ave killed Moi Angel." Spike frowned, and cautiously made his way over to her. He took her hand into his own.

"Pet, let's not worry 'bout Angel, or the Slayer any more. We're not goin' back to Sunnydale." He carefully planted a light kiss unto her knuckles, and looked up at His Princess. She widened her eyes slightly. A slow, sadistic grin spread slowly across her face, the kind of grin she got when she had naughty thoughts. Spike rose back up to his feet, giving her a wide grin as well.

Suddenly, she lunged forward and grabbed his head, pulling it to her own. She kissed him long and deep, tilting her head back to just the right angle. Out of breath that he didn't need, Spike finally broke the kiss. He entwined Dru's fingers in his own. "Now, there's the Princess I know and love." She giggled softly.

"Do you want to play a game, Spoike?" He laughed wryly.

"Whatever you want, My Pet." Drusilla rose off of the bed slowly, letting her outfit trail across Spike's hands like silk. She smiled at him.

"Lay down." She commanded him, and he more than willingly consented. He crossed his hands behind his head and watched His Princess, curious as to what kind of games were to come.

Drusilla sauntered over to the dresser drawer of the cheap motel, and pulled out a set of handcuffs. Spike spurt out a wry giggle, and looked at Dru with interest. "You want to play?" She whispered to him. Spike eagerly nodded. "Goody . .!" Dru squealed, and clapped her hands in excitement. She hurried over to Spike. Spike raised his arms willingly, and Drusilla fastened him to the bed. She giggled. Spike laid back and tried to relax.

"Now then . ." Drusilla said, throwing the key across the room. "Oi can play with Moi Li'l Spoike." Spike didn't say a word, he just watched in awe as Dru carefully climbed onto the bed. She leaned over him and looked into his eyes. Spike lifted his head slightly up off of the pillow, grinning from ear to ear. Dru leaned over and softly kissed him, running her nails lightly down his cheeks. Spike groaned into her mouth.

Spike squeezed his eyes shut, about to hit it when suddenly, Dru stopped. She looked up at him with a pouty expression. "Spoike. . do you luv me . .? Do you luv your PrinCess . .?" She asked. Spike gritted his teeth.

"Yes, PrinCess. Daddy luvs you. Now, can you please finish?" He begged. She sat up, glaring at him.

"But you 'urt me .. for Her. For the Slayer." Spike shook his head. Now? She had to do this, now??

"Dru, I already told you. Angel was taking you away from me. If I didn't love you, I wouldn't 'ave cared. But I do. And That's why I did it." Drusilla leapt off of the bed.

"You, were mean to me. You 'urt me." Spike groaned in aggravation.

"Pet-" Drusilla quickly grabbed her coat.

"Oi'm going out . .Moi tummy is growly. I'm going to find a noice li'l snack." Drusilla flung open the door, and slammed it behind her.

"DAMMIT!" Spike shouted. He was still handcuffed to the bed.

Drusilla didn't return until nearly dawn, and despite his anger towards her, Spike had been slightly worried. She quietly closed the door behind her and smiled triumphantly, wiping a small trickle of blood from the corner of her mouth. "Mmm . ." She teased. "Oi 'ad such a noice time .."

"That's great, Pet. Any reason you saw fit to leave me here all night?" Drusilla looked down at him, giggling softly.

"Mm, Spoike, are you 'ungry?"

"Yes, Ducks, I am." Dru giggled.

"Sorry . .no one wanted to come 'ome with me." She told him, matter-of-factly. Spike inwardly groaned. Dru was not going to let this go nicely. Maybe if he just played nice and ignored what happened, she would let it blow over.

"Well, no matter. Listen, Dru, I been doing some thinking. How would you like to go out of the country?" Dru smiled.

"Prauge? Oi 'ave missed Prague . ."

"No luv, not Prauge. Oi was thinking more along the lines of .. Asia, or Brazil or something." Drusilla drew back a bit, considering the suggestion. "It would make for a fresh start, y'know? And, there would be lots of people to play with.?" Dru's eyes brightened slightly.

"OO oo .. Oi loike people." She grinned. "Oi loike to 'urt them."

"I know you do, Pet. So, what do you think?" Dru twiddled her fingers.

"Oi want to go to Brazil." Spike smiled.

"Then it's done. Um, pet? Can you please take the handcuffs off, now?" Drusilla giggled, and fished around for the key. She grasped it in-between her blood red nails, and ambled over to Spike.

"You promise to be good?" She cooed. Spike sucked in a comment, gritted his teeth and forced himself to smile back at her.

"Yes, Pet. Daddy will be good." Dru unlocked the handcuffs, and Spike brought his arms down, rubbing his wrists. He looked over at Dru. Her face changed, and she turned from playful to stern and pouty. Spike tilted his head, and sat up, groaning. He peeked outside the window. "Well Pet, it's almost day. We'll 'ave to stay in 'ere until sunset." Dru smiled.

"Yess .. we will." Spike smiled. "Oi'm sleepy . ." she cooed. Spike looked at her with curiosity. Dru laid down on the bed and crossed her arms over her chest. She closed her eyes peacefully. Spike smiled, and carefully laid down next to her. Suddenly, Dru’s eyes darted open, and she roughly pushed Spike off the bed. Spike hit the floor with a soft 'oof.' He scrambled to his feet and looked at Dru with confusion. "Oi want to sleep .. alone. Go .. away." She said, and closed her eyes again.

Spike inwardly sighed. He didn't like how unpredictable she was becoming. This trip out of the country would definitely be a task.

Maybe thought, maybe when they got to Brazil, things would be okay again. Dru would be far away from Sunnydale. far away from the Slayer, and far away from Angelus. Spike was sure that she would succumb once again to the special bond that they shared. Nothing could tear them apart.

Spike decided to just let Dru have her way for now. He took one last look at his sleeping princess, and then settled down on the floor. His tummy growled faintly, and thoughts of warm, sticky blood filled Spike's head. He could almost taste it, running down his throat, rejuvenating his senses. This was going to be a long day.
