Treason Chapters 7-12

-Chapter 7-

Darth Sidious saw the transport speed off. The person in the back was no ordinary person. She was a Jedi. He could sense the Force strong in her. Darth Maul stood beside him.

"Something wrong, my Master?" He said.
"She has the plans. Find her and kill her."
     "Yes. It shall be done."

Darth Maul walked off and out of the room. The meeting in the Senate would be over in a few minutes and Senator Palpatine would return and talk to Darth Sidious about what all happened in the meeting. He walked to the turbolift and went all the way down to the first floor and walked out of the building.

If she was a Jedi, she would head straight to the Temple. He knew the rules. Since he was a Sith, he was not allowed to enter the Temple. That rule had been set along time ago. He stood a block or so away from the temple and watched to see if she was going to enter or what.

He knew that his master would be talking to Senator Palpatine right now and Palpatine would be going on and on about this and that. He also knew that he would be talking to the weak Neimoidians about the blockade of Naboo. It wouldn't be long now. The blockade would be a success and finally he and his Master would be able to reveal themselves and extinguish the Jedi once and for all.

He saw the Jedi girl walk into the Temple. He just made his first mistake. He let her go in. Now instead of killing her, he would kill everyone that she told. It would be a glorious day. He would get to kill some Jedi. He had waited a long time for this day and he will kill them.
-Chapter 8-

Lila walked up to Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan and handed the files to them. Qui-Gon looked at Lila and smiled. She did her job and did it well. She got the exact files that they needed.

     "Good job, Lila." Qui-Gon said.
     "Thank you sir." Lila said.
"Come with us. We are going to look over these and then you are going to return them."
"There might be a problem there."
     "What do you mean?"
"I saw the man again. He was in the Senator's apartment. There was another there with him. It's getting dangerous now."
"Everything thing will be fine. When we find what we are looking for, we will get the Senator for everything. Having ties to the Trade Federation and having ties to the Sith. If he does have ties to the Sith." Qui-Gon said.

This didn't make Lila feel any better. Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan both knew that the meeting was over and Palpatine would notice the files missing. Then, Lila would be in trouble. She didn't want to get killed or anything. Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan began walking and Lila followed them. They went to the same room as the day before. This time many members of the Jedi Council sat at the table. Three seats were vacant. Qui-Gon, Obi-Wan, and Lila sat down. Across from Lila sat Adi Gallia, from Obi-Wan sat Master Yoda, and from Qui-Gon sat Mace Windu.

Qui-Gon set the files down on the table. Everyone took a file and began reading. Lila was shocked at what she saw. There were plans for a blockade of Naboo and other planets by the Trade Federation. She saw documents containing information about Senator Palpatine's connection to both the Trade Federation and a Sith Lord named Darth Sidious. She looked up at Master Windu.

"I think that you should look at this, Master Windu." She said, handing the file to him.

Mace Windu took the file and began looking through it. He was not happy about what he saw. He looked at Master Yoda and sighed.

"This is not good." Master Windu said.
"Unexpected, this is." Master Yoda replied.
Mace Windu handed the file to Qui-Gon. He only look a quick look and knew what they were talking about. He sighed as he handed the file to back to Lila.

"Now what do we do? I can't take those files back, not right now." Lila said, looking at Qui-Gon.
"Let us decide on what to do." Ki-Adi-Mundi said.
"Yes, sir." Lila said, standing up, "If it's all right I would like to go to my room."
     "It's fine." Qui-Gon said.

Lila got up and walked out of the room. She was very agitated about the whole situation. She walked back to her room to get ready for her next mission. All of a sudden, she felt very cold. A feeling that she's had before. There were a few knocks at her door.

     "Who is it?" She said.
"Lila, it's me. Please let me in." Ryall said.
     "Come in."

The door opened and Ryall rushed in. He looked like he had been running around looking for her all afternoon.

     "Ryall, what's wrong?"
"Nothing. I just wanted to see if you were okay. How did it go?"
"I'm fine. It went fine. But within the next few days something might happen and I might have to go away on another mission."
"Is that why you have your bag packed?"
"Yes, but its mostly gear. There's a couple extra jumpsuits, but mostly gear."
"Will I be able to go with you?"
"I doubt it. You could ask the Council and maybe they would allow you to go, but I'm not sure about where I'm going yet. Master Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan are still in need of my services."
     "I understand."

Lila knew that Ryall wanted to go with her, and he could if the Council let him and Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan needed his services. She looked at him as she packed a couple extra glow sticks and a practice saber. She looked at Ryall's belt and saw a saber hanging from it.

     "You finished your lightsaber."
"Yeah." He said taking it off of his belt and handing it to her, "Here, I want you to have it."
"I can't. It's yours. I'll get around to making one of my own."
"Just a little something to remember me, if you go offworld. Take it please."
"Okay." She said placing it on her belt.
     "Just be careful."
     "I will."

They stood there looking at each other. Qui-Gon walked by Lila's room. He saw Lila and Ryall just standing there. He walked in and stood in front of the door.

"Lila, when you are ready. The Council needs to speak with you."
"Yes, sir. I was on my way there."
     "Okay. Let's go."

Lila and Qui-Gon walked out of Lila's room and walked towards the turbolift that went to the Council Chamber Room. They stepped off of the turbolift and walked towards the doors. Obi-Wan stood there waiting. The doors opened and Lila stepped ahead. Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan stayed outside the doors and waited for her return.

-Chapter 9-

Inside the Council Chamber Room, Lila stood in the middle of the room and bowed to the Jedi Council members. She stood there patiently and awaited her orders. Jedi Master Mace Windu was the first to speak.

"Lila, something has happened on the planet of Naboo. Master Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan will take care of that in a couple days. Your next order of business is go with them to Senator Palpatine's apartment."
     "Yes, sir." She said, bowing.
"May the Force be with you." Master Yoda said.

Lila walked out of the room. Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan stood right where they stood when she went in. Obi-Wan looked at her and smiled. He knew what she was supposed to do. She walked past them. She just wanted to go to her room and rest a little while. Obi-Wan ran to catch up with her.

"Is everything all right?" He asked.
"I don't want to go to that room again. I almost didn't make it out of there alive earlier."
     "What do you mean?"

Lila told Obi-Wan about what happened. She told him about the two men and having to jump out of the window. He looked at her with complete shock.

"There's no way that the turbolift couldn't have been working."
"Well, it wasn't. That's why I had to jump out of the window. But when I stepped onto that turbolift, I felt a stabbing cold. I felt so cold that it felt like I was frozen stiff."

Qui-Gon finally caught up with them. He heard Lila say what she just said. He knew that something was up. He looked at Obi-Wan and nodded.

"What is she talking about, Master?"
"Somewhere in that Senate Apartment Building is a Sith Lord."
"And I have to find him?" Lila asked.
"If that how you want to look at it... yes. That's why you are coming with us."
"All right. When are we leaving?"
     "Now. Let's go."

Lila sighed and walked with Obi-Wan and Qui-Gon. She was beginning to think that she should have just declined this mission and let the Council give it to someone else. Then again that someone else might have been Ryall.

They walked outside the temple and waited for a transport to take them to the Senate Apartment Building. The transport finally arrived and they got aboard. They stopped and got off. The transport sped off. Qui-Gon looked at Lila and nodded. She ran off to the side of the building and watched Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan enter the building.

She closed her eyes and tapped into the Force. She began floating up to the window that she jumped out of earlier. She went up a few more windows and saw what she was looking for. The same older dark robed man. She noticed that the younger man was nowhere in sight. Through the Force, she tried to contact Qui-Gon or Obi-Wan, but something or someone seemed to be blocking her abilities.

The dark robed man turned around and look straight towards Lila. She saw his face. It was...

-Chapter 10-

"I'm sorry. Senator Palpatine is not available right now." The receptionist droid said.
"Look, we really need to see him." Qui-Gon said.
"I'm sorry, but he's busy at the moment."

Obi-Wan looked at Qui-Gon. He wondered why they haven't heard or saw Lila yet. He sighed as Qui-Gon continued on about trying to get into Palpatine's room. He noticed that there was no light coming from the bottom crack of the doors.

     "Master..." He whispered.
"What is it?" Qui-Gon whispered back.
"There's something wrong. Lila hasn't return. There's no one in the Senator's room."
"Okay. Let's go. We'll come back later."
"Obi-Wan! HELP ME!" He heard through the Force.

Obi-Wan looked around. He knew the voice. It was Lila. She was in trouble. He ran to the window and looked up. Sure enough there was Lila. She was just floating here. Qui-Gon ran over and saw what Obi-Wan was looking at.

"We have to help her." Obi-Wan said.
     "I know. Let's go."

Obi-Wan didn't know the complete layout of the building. Qui-Gon knew some of it. They ran to the turbolift and took it to the highest floor it would go to. They got off and looked around the room. There were hundreds of windows. Obi-Wan picked one and Qui-Gon picked the one next to it. They looked down and saw Lila still floating there. Obi-Wan took a few steps back and ran towards the window. He jumped through and fell. He tapped into the Force and began levitating. Qui-Gon decided not to do what Obi-Wan just did. He ran back to the turbolift and took it all the way down to the bottom of the building. He ran outside and to the side of the building that Obi-Wan and Lila were at.

Obi-Wan grabbed Lila and held her in his arms. Her body felt lifeless in his arms. He floated down to the ground and ran to Qui-Gon, but he didn't stop there. He ran all the way to the transport. Qui-Gon followed. They went back to the temple and to a medical room. Ryall busted into the room and saw Lila laying lifeless on the bed. He looked at Obi-Wan and Qui-Gon.

"What happened?!" Ryall said holding back tears.
"We're not sure. We'll have to wait and see if she comes out of this." Qui-Gon said.
"If?! IF!? I told her to decline this mission..."

Ryall looked at Lila and ran out of the room. Obi-Wan wanted to run after him, but Qui-Gon grabbed him by the arm. Obi-Wan looked at Qui-Gon and then to Lila. He felt partial responsible for this. The sooner she wakes up the better. He held her lightsaber in his hand. He saw her fingers begin to move, and then she moved her arms. Obi-Wan and Qui-Gon walked up to her bed and stood there. Obi-Wan took her hand.

"Lila. Lila, can you hear me?" Obi-Wan said.

She only nodded her head. She could hear them, but she couldn't speak. It was almost like someone had hit her in the throat or had removed her vocal cords. She opened her eyes and looked at Obi-Wan. He looked at her.

"Obi-Wan, go get Ryall. Tell him that she's awake." Qui-Gon said.

Lila shook her head. There was no time for that. Something happened outside that window, something that she would never understand. Ryall wouldn't understand it either. She turned her head just enough to see Obi-Wan run out of the room. She knew that she was about to die. She never thought that she would die laying down. She turned her head again and looked at Qui-Gon.

"Master Qui-Gon," She managed, "Senator Palpatine is Darth..."

Obi-Wan ran back into the room in time to see Lila take her final breath. He still held her lightsaber in his hand. Ryall ran in and up to the bed. He looked at Lila and started to cry. He looked at her belt. The lightsaber that he had given her was gone. He looked up at Qui-Gon and turned his head and looked at Obi-Wan.

     "Where's the lightsaber?" He said.
"This one?" Obi-Wan said holding it out.
"Yes. That one. I gave it to her. I would like to have it back."

Obi-Wan handed it to him. Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan walked out of the room to let Ryall say any final words to Lila.
-Chapter 11-

Many members of the Jedi Council, Ryall, Obi-Wan, Qui-Gon, and many other people that Lila were friends with stood at the funeral pyre. Ryall tried hard to hold back tears as Master Windu lit the pyre with fire. They stood around the pyre until Lila's body had become one with the Force.

Ryall stood in the doorway of what was his best friend's room. They had to clean some of her stuff out, but they gave most of it to Ryall. Qui-Gon Jinn walked up to him and stood beside him. He knew how much Ryall missed Lila. Qui-Gon clapped the shoulder of Ryall.

"I know that this is a difficult time, but the Council needs to see you."
"Let me guess, I have to finish Lila's mission."
     "Yes, that is correct."
"All right. I'll be there in a couple minutes."
     "Okay."

Qui-Gon walked away, leaving Ryall standing there. He looked through the pitch black room and thought about Lila. They didn't do a lot of missions together, but the ones they did were great. He hated the fact that she was dead. If she would have only listened to him, she would be alive. He shook his head and dried his eyes. He would complete this mission for Lila and then ask the council to let him leave the temple forever.

He walked to the turbo lift and went up the Council Chamber Room. He walked into the room and received he assignment. He was to go to Naboo with Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan and figure out what is going on there. He walked out of the room and outside to wait for Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan. When they arrived, they told Ryall about that the plan was and how things were to be done. He nodded and followed them to the ship called, Radiant VII. Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan were going to speak with the Trade Federation Viceroy as ambassadors of the Republic.

After the Battle of Naboo, Ryall stood before the Council. At first he didn't know just how to phrase what he wanted to say. When Master Windu asked him to speak he finally said what he wanted to say.

"Master Windu, Master Yoda, and Members of the Jedi Council. At the light of the Battle of Naboo, and the death of my friend, Lila, I wish to be allowed to leave the Jedi Temple forever. Be assured that I am not leaving my Jedi training behind. I just want to go about and live like a real human being. I'm tired of seeing people that I love die."

The Jedi Council looked stunned. They didn't know how to deal with a young one wanting to leave. Master Yoda looked and Ryall and sighed.

"Leave us, decide on this we will." Master Yoda said.

Ryall bowed and walked out of the room. He didn't know if they were actually going to let him leave. It was worth the chance to ask them, than to have let it stay inside of him. He stood outside the Chamber Room for a couple hours waiting for an answer. Finally, Master Mace Windu walked out of the room and looked at Ryall.

"Ryall, take a walk with me." He said.
     "Okay." Ryall said.
He didn't know what this meant, but he hoped that he would soon find out. They walked outside and into one of the many gardens that was outside the temple.

"Ryall, why exactly do you wish to leave?"
"Mostly because of Lila's death." He replied.
"That's a good reason. Are you absolutely sure that you want to leave?"
     "Yes."
"Okay. The Council grants you permission to leave the Temple. I hope that sometime in the future that we see you again."
"Thank you, Master Windu." Ryall said bowing.
     "You are welcome."

Ryall ran off. He ran to his room and threw all of his stuff into a bag. He grabbed his bag and the bag that Lila had prepared a few weeks ago and walked out of the Temple. He stopped a few steps away, turned, and looked at the Temple. The Temple was his home, but now he had to find a new one. He didn't know where he was going, but he knew that even though he walked out of the Temple for good, the Force would always be with him.
-Chapter 12-

Once Senator, now Chancellor Palpatine sat in his office and looked out the window. He watched the air taxis and other crafts speed by. He was supposed to be meeting with Master Yoda and other member of the Jedi Council about a certain situation.

"Chancellor, members of the Jedi to speak with you." Dar Wac said in Huttese.
"Good. Send them in." Palpatine said.

A small group of Jedi, containing Mace Windu, Yoda, Plo Koon, Ki-Adi-Mundi, Adi Gallia, and Obi-Wan Kenobi entered the room. Chancellor Palpatine stood up and shook hands with Mace Windu.

"I'm sorry about the death of Master Qui-Gon Jinn."
"Thanks. Now to discuss what we came here for."
"Ah. Yes. What can I do for you?"
"We have some information that you have ties to the Trade Federation and to a Sith Lord named Darth Sidious."
"Don't be absurd. Why would I have ties to the ones that blockaded my home planet?"
"We were hoping you could tell us." Adi Gallia said.

Palpatine didn't know how to deal with this. The Jedi accusing him of knowing about the blockade of Naboo and having ties to a Sith.

"I do now know what you are talking about. I have no ties to the Trade Federation or to a Sith Lord"
"Then what are these." Ki-Adi-Mundi said placing many documents on Palpatine's desk.
"Where did you get those?" Palpatine exclaimed.
"From you apartment when you were Senator a few weeks back." Adi Gallia said.
"How? You never came by my apartment."
"Now seeing these, you are willing to come clean?" Mace asked.
     "Yes." Palpatine whispered.

Palpatine told them everything about the Trade Federation and the link to the Sith. Obi-Wan looked at Palpatine and decided to speak.

"A special agent was killed by the Sith Lord. Her dying words were, 'Senator Palpatine is Darth Sidious.' Do you confess to this?! Did you kill that girl?! Are you or are you not Sidious?!"
"I am not Darth Sidious and I did not kill that girl. I would never kill a single person."
"You would never kill a single person, but you want the Senate to vote FOR the creation of an army. You make me sick." Obi-Wan said storming out of the room.
"You need to have better control of your Jedi, Master Yoda." Palpatine said looking at Yoda.
     "Control he has." Yoda said.
"Are you going to charge me with anything?" Palpatine said.
"The only thing to charge you for would be treason." Plo Koon said.
"Treason?! How? The Republic is my home. Why would I do anything to hurt it?"
"How about you just tell us everything?" Adi Gallia said.

Palpatine told them everything again. Nothing came up this time about the Sith Lord. Palpatine stood up and walked over to the window. The Jedi stood up and walked out of the room. They needed something to get him for treason. With the way it was going, they would never get him. They went back to the Temple and back to the Chamber Room. They all sat down and continued to discuss the whole situation.

"We could just drop it." Oppo Rancisis said.
"Yes, we could." Mace Windu said, "And he would get away with it. Is that what you all want?"
"No. Not for him to get away with it. But think about this, if we go through with this the Senate will be in an uproar. Do you want that? They would never ask us to help ever again." Oppo replied.

Oppo Rancisis was right. If they went through with this, the Senate would hate the Jedi more than they already do. Master Yoda sat in his seat very quiet.

"What do you think, Master Yoda?" Mace asked.
"Get away with it, he could. Allow that, we must. When the time comes, our help he will need."
"So, we let him get away with it?!" Obi-Wan said busting into the Chamber Room.
"Yes. We have to." Adi Gallia said.
"But he's responsible for Qui-Gon's death and Lila's death."
"Those deaths were not in vain, Obi-Wan. Just go about you business and begin training Anakin."
     "Yes, Master."
Obi-Wan walked out of the room. The Council members continued talking about came to the decision that they would have to let it be. They would have to live with this decision for the rest of their lives. If they continued with the investigation, it could wind up in a dead end.

So, that's what they did. They dropped the investigation and continued being guardians of peace and justice in the galaxy. Obi-Wan continued to train Anakin in the ways of the Force and the Jedi Council continued doing their jobs.
