HARPER 2.0

A Persiad boards the Mauru while Harper and Beka are getting supplies. He is injured badly and dying. He's blabbering about ‘‘saving' something. Harper tries to help him when the alien notices Harper's data-port and attacks him.

Later, it becomes evident that the Persiat was a librarian and ‘‘downloaded' a whole database into Harper's brain, making him a little crazy to say the least.

A bounty hunter after the now deceased alien insists on taking it's body off the ship but later returns and tries to kill Harper. Dylan and the others try to find out what the bounty hunter was really after before he destroys Andromeda.

Harper is acting erratic and is having nightmares about Magog. When he sees Rev he is terrified and when he sees him again he attacks him. Eventually Harper's behaviour becomes too dangerous and Dylan has to lock him to a table in med-deck. Harper is getting worse but he manages to tell Trance how build something to extract the data.

When the machine is built it begins to work but then overloads rendering Harper unconscious. They only get a partial impression of data. Dylan tells Trance to keep Harper locked up.

Watching the data, they find what Yiaga was after - some footage of scary sillohette guy directing a horrfic attack on Brandenburg Torr. The Andromeda is under attack again - then Harper appears on the screen. He is on the Maru being brave and saving Andromeda. He is chased by Yiaga and about to be killed when Dylan comes to the rescue. Aw.

Review

This is one of my favourite eps - and not just because of my obsession with Harper - Although it may have contributed :) .

Gordon Michael Woolvett acted wonderfully throughout his first sole ‘Harper episode’. It must have been really difficult learning those lines and repeating them so quickly!

We really got a sense of just how evil the Magog were in Harper’s nightmare’s too. And the scary silhouette guy looks like it will be a formidable foe.

We were also introduced to a new alien race, so it's nice to see Andromeda world expanding a little. Although I couldn't work out if they were called Persiad's or Persiat's. Maybe it's my hearing.

It was interesting to see that even though Harper had a huge alien database in his head, he still didn't know what Trance's species was. And then he spoke in her language (I presume) at the end. I wonder what he said... [[[Mild spoiler for season two - It turned out to be a hymn from a temple where Trance onced posed as a goddess]]]

I also wondered what Harper could have said to Rev that was so terrible to make him so angry.

This episode was full of wonderingment (Its a word) and full of Harper so I liked it muchly.
