IT MAKES A LOVELY LIGHT
Beka tries to pilot the Andromeda through Slipstream to the Commonwealth capitol Tarn Vedra (Fear and Loathing) for Dylan's birthday but finds it difficult to concentrate. Deciding she won’’t let everyone down, she brews up her own concoction of Flash (The Pearls That Were His Eyes) to enhance her reaction speed.
When Beka's behaiviour becomes too erratic, Dylan finally notices. He sends her to go cold turkey but the poor misguided fool attacks Rev Bem who comesto see her and escapes her room.
In Command Dylan makes the journey back to their original course but, as Tyr points out, they only got nearer to Tarn Vedra. They discover Beka is controlling SlipStream from the drive itself. She is taking more Flash and has locked herself in.
Dylan distracts her by talking to her as a holographic projection while Harper sneaks up and opens the doors to Dylan. They finally talk Beka into getting the help she needs and she has to face up to the fact that she might be addicted to Flash for the rest of her life.

Review
This was a good episode compared with most of
the recent ones (Excluding Fear and Loathing which I obviously liked!)
Having read some selected spoilers beforehand,
I actually though Beka was already on Flash before she started taking it!
Some issues with Beka's father were danced
around but not fully addressed, also I thought that when Harper found out he
would have done something more than just leave her alone. Other than this I
thought this episode was rather good.
Oh yeah, and what was the deal with Trance
getting sick from too much Slipstream? Very suspicious.
Lisa Ryder made a very good Flash addict I
thought, and of course there was an anti-drugs message at the end, but it wasn't
as dumb as I thought it would be.
I'm suprised Dylan didn't notice aswell.
Heh, I seem to be thinking of lots of things I didn't like after saying this ep
was good. It was, really.
