THE MATHEMATICS OF TEARS
Andromeda discovers her sister ship, the Pax Magellanic (missing in action almost as long as the Andromeda) stuck in the orbit of a dead planet but more surprises come when they find the original crew still alive, having not aged a day.
The highest rank surviving officer, a blonde by the name of Jill Pearce shows the crew around. They don't know why they haven't aged but have been stuck there for hundreds of years after a mission gone drastically wrong. It resulted in the destruction of an entire planet where half the crew were doing battle with the Nietzchiens.
We get the feeling that Pearce isn't telling the whole story. Meanwhile, Rommie attempts to find out what happened by interfacing with the ships computer. Inside she finds the broken shell of the sister AI she once fought alongside. The mental AI kicks her out.
Dylan and Pearce have dinner while Harper goes with the chief engineer of Pax, Dutch, to the SlipField generator. It's been souldered shut because the guy couldn't bear looking at it and not being able to fix it. But when they get the door open, the generator isn't even there! Harper figures it had to be forcably ejected but doesn't have much time to get suspicious. Dutch throws him over the rails! Clinging on for dear life, Dutch continues to try and kill Harper - until Beka comes to save him. The two make their escape with half the crew in tow.
Harper and Beka run to get Dylan. Dylan, understandably wants answers. Harper then gives him some - he turns the crew off. That's right, the con-artists are actually AI's of the real crew. And Pearce is actually the Avatar of the ship - Pax. The crew rush to help Andromeda who was still trying to help Pax in the mainframe.
The AI's begin to wake up - not good. Dylan goes into Pax's mainframe with Rommie to find out what the friggin hell is going on while Harper, Beka and Tyr kick some android butt.
Dylan and Rommie discover why Pax is a little bit insane. She and her Captain were lovers and during the war Captain Worrick ordered Pax to self-destruct. Pax felt betrayed and refused. Instead she destroyed the planet along with most of her crew.
The Andromeda crew flee the crazy, crazy ship. Pax forces them to destroy her. Crazy.

Review
A very illustriously titled
episode. Dylan and the Andromeda crew come across another High Guard war ship -
lucky huh? - and the some of crew just happened to be still alive, in perfect
health, made immortal by a funky planetoid anomaly thing.
I found this very suspicious.
Andromeda tries to get into the ships mainframe but finds the ships avatar there
has gone a little off over the centuries.
Basically this episode centers
around Dylan falling for the stupid second in command character, and everyone
discovering that not all is right onboard the pretty gold ship.
I liked the twist that the second
in command girly was actually the ship - didn't see that coming - and the fact
that everyone were in fact robots of the original crew.
I don't quite get Andromeda
having a sister and all. I mean, does she have emotions of what? But she did
seem to feel for the ship - despite it trying to kill her crew - and mourned
briefly when it allowed itself to be destroyed.
Some good action in this episode.
I liked it.
