Hobbies: model building (mecha and speculative), gardening (roses). Owns three different breeds of roses - 'Ruby Heart', deep red petals with pink edging; 'Midnight Snow', dark 'blue' petals with white centers; and 'Amber Medal', a yellow and orange flower. Education: brown belt in 'modern' ninjitsu and a degree in mechanical design History with Spectrum: -Megan's twin sister, Julia, and their father, Gregory, are presumed to be dead after the 'Winged Assassin' incident. Megan (Amber) was later found in a New York hospital, where she was sent after a close encounter with a mugger prior to the take-off of Flight DT019. -Joined Spectrum under the name of Amber Nytstar, not so much to hide her past from them as to conceal her decision from her mother. Sent to Peregrine Base for low level training -Peregrine Base closed down after the discovery of a traitor among the cadets and the disappearance of two other cadets. Amber was transferred to Wapiti Base to continue training -During testing, Amber revealed extraordinary skills in marksmanship and piloting, and several unusual talents including a gift for detecting Mysterons. She was also identified as one of the targets of a Mysteron threat, the Amber Intruder. After much deliberation by the board, she was transferred to Koala Base for officer training despite the mediocre marks in her other classes. -On April 23, 2072, Amber graduated top of her class and was officially commissioned as Lt. Topaz. However, due to a death in the family, she did not receive the commission or her transfer orders until two days later Personality Flaws: -Distrusts all Mysteron constructs (including those working for Spectrum, except Captain Scarlet.) Suspected of being a member of the Reclusive Anti-Mysteron Agency's (RAMA) Rainbow faction and the lead pilot of their Raven flight. RAMA code names linked to her: Astraea, Shadow Raven. -Clearly misses her sister and visits the grave once or twice a year, usually on the anniversary of the 'Winged Assassin' incident or the day of mourning for terrorist victims. Medical notes: -Internal anatomy is a mirror image of the average person. -Eyes are now highly sensitive to light. Amber has medical permission to wear sunglasses for sight protection -Significant crystalline growth within the nervous system. Growths seem to be benign and non-pervasive. However, two large crystals have completely surrounded several neurons within the brain, possibly blocking several of Amber's memories -Has the indications of a split personality. Other personality discovered calls herself 'Whenda' and can use much more advanced talents (telepathy and teleportation) than the Amber persona. Whenda is friendly towards Amber and neutral towards Spectrum, which she does not consider herself a true member of. This personality is somehow connected to the crystalline growths and Amber's amnesia concerning the events of June 21, 2071. Whenda has also referred to a third, unknown, personality, claiming that it is hostile towards all of humanity, especially Amber. Security notes: - Topaz has been instructed to use her ID to requisition equipment or gain entry to restricted installations, after Agent Star used Topaz's uniform for a similar purpose. - Recommended that Topaz be accompanied by at least one human Spectrum Agent during Mysteron or RAMA incidents, due to her suspected ties to the Agency. -'Dodgy' equipment known to have owned or built: Wrist-mounted grappling gun and smoke 'projector' (actually fires a smoke pellet), Spectrum transceiver disguised as a cell phone (tuned to 'her' frequencies), RF field generator hidden in locket (generates a short directed energy burst similar to an Electromagnetic Pulse. Can disable unarmored vehicles and short-circuit unprotected electronics, or disrupt Mysteron signals to mechanical objects. Effects on organic Mysteron Agents unknown.), personal sound system hidden in watch and headband.
