(These icons are not TC's, forgot who was the original webmaster so don't be copying them, eh? Whoever they are, thank you!)
Although it's not much and not the most sophisticated thing out there, TC had to help rectify the utter lack of web space devoted to this beautiful SOB.
Before you go any further, this shrine is only to G1 Thundercracker. Yes, TC realizes there has been Thundercrackers in Beast Wars and Armada, and she is also working on geting a little info on post-G1, but G1 is her main machine and G1 it shall stay. So nyeah.
Thundercracker
Allegiance: Decepticon
Function: Warrior
"The deadliest weapon is terror."
Profile: Soaring swiftly through the clouds, Thundercracker gazes with scorn on the creatures below. He is utterly contemptuous of anything that cannot lift itself off the ground and claim the sky. Occasionally, he expresses that contempt by diving and striking, leaving flame and destruction as he again speeds upward. Yet he is not totally convinced of the cause that he serves. Only the words of his Decepticon companions about the rightness of their cause, the destiny of conquest that is their birthright, convince him to go on. He is persuaded because he wants to be persuaded. Without a sense of purpose, Thundercracker would find his life unbearable.
Abilities: Like his follow Decepticon jet fighters, Thundercracker can attain speeds of up to 1500 mph. He has the additional ability to produce controlled sonic booms of deafening magnitude that can be heard within a 200-mile radius. He can launch a drone rocket with a range of 500 miles that behaves similarly to a cruise missile and has the concussive force of 3000 lbs. of TNT. He has a shoulder-mounted automatic incendiary gun that shoots at 100 rounds per minute heat-resistant ceramic bullets containing a highly explosive flammable material that ignites on impact.
Weaknesses: Lingering doubts in Thundercracker's subconscious sometimes surface and impede his effectiveness, particularly when innocent human lives are endangered. Usually his fear of Decepticon Leader Megatron compels him to overlook these doubts.
TC's take:
As we all know, Thundercracker is one-third of the Stooge Seeker set, and one of the most intriguing Cons out there. TC has a lot of nagging doubts about the Decepticon cause, and needs the help of others to convice him he's doing the right thing.
What TC loves about him is he thinks before acting. He's smarter than most of the Cons but doesn't quite have the balls to contradict Megatron the way his red repaint does. (In case you're wondering, no, TC does not hate Starscream. She's rather fond of him, but all takes second over her boy.)
Unfortunately, the writers of the Transformers didn't delve deeper into Thundercracker's personality, so what we end up with is a warrior not too crazy about his cause, but regulated to the background as a continual prop. (Like most of the other Transformers, sadly enough.) What makes it worse was we were teased with "Fire on the Mountain", where the potential for character development was staggering, and then nada. (Grrrrrrrrrrr)
Thundercracker was in almost all of the G1 Season 1 and 2 eps, but in all but Fire on the Mountain, he was mostly background fodder. (TC was thinking of a sighting chart, but since he was in most of them, that would be quite a task. Three eps that she knows he's *not* in are Master Builder and Key to Vector Sigma 1 and 2) However, especially in the first few eps, there were a lot of Seekers with Thunder's colours running around. Well, Skywarp, too. Must've been a popular combo.
Anyway, as we all know, TF:TM came around and poor Thundercracker, along with Skywarp, the Insecticons and Megatron all got a makeover by Ol'Big Butt and Thundercracker became Scourge, TC believes, if not one of those ugly-ass Sweeps. *WAAAAAAAAAAAAAH* (Is it her, or are the Uni-made chars a fuckload uglier than their former selves?) After Scourge, TC loses interest. Sorry to say...
