Sailor Pluto appears at the end of Sailor Moon R. In the the R series, she gaurds the time gate and she communicated with Chibi-Usa through her Luna Ball. Her staff (that looks like a giant key) is what she uses as her weapon, and to open the time gate. In Sailor Moon S, it holds the third talisman, the Sacred Jewel, at the top. In Sailor Moon R, she helped the Sailor Soldiers travel through time, from present Tokyo, to Crystal Tokyo, and back to present Tokyo. She also helped the Sailor Soldiers go into Chibi-Usa's dreams when one of the Black Moon agents invaded her thoughts. In "Sailor Moon, Sailor Stars", she, along with the other Outer Soldiers, did not trust the Sailor Starlights at first because they were from outside the Solar System and they thought they would hurt Sailor Moon.

  Sailor Pluto's human indetity, Meiou Setsuna, is introduced in Sailor Moon S. She is very quiet and mysterious and not much is known about her. She is sort of isolated from the other Soldiers, but she is very prudent in attitude and battle. She appears to act very depressed all the time, and never reveals things about her. She is very loyal to her king and queen, and was Chibi-Usa's first friend. Setsuna and Chibi-Usa have a strong bond of love between each other. Setsuna is one of the few people who call Chibi-Usa "Small Lady".

Other Facts: When Sailor Pluto used her forbidden ability to stop time in Sailor Moon S, her punishment was (believed to be) death. However, Sailor Pluto did return in "Sailor Moon S" and "Sailor Moon Super S" movies and again in the fifth season, "Sailor Moon, Sailor Stars".

In Roman Mythology, Pluto is the Greek god of the underworld, Hades. Though he was the ruler of the dead, Pluto was not a cruel god.

Setsuna says these words to transform into Sailor Pluto.

Dead Scream:
After saying this, Sailor Pluto charges up her Time Staff using her talisman. This creates a purple ball of energy on her staff which she shoots at an enemy. The blast it creates has a similar effect to that of a sonic scream.

Time Stop:
Being Sailor Pluto's forbidden power (which has no name), this stops time. She only used it once in Sailor Moon S to save herself, Uranus, and Neputne from an explosion outside of the Omega Zone. She was believed to be punished by death. (However, she did return in the "Sailor Moon S" and "Sailor Moon Super S" Movies and then again in the fifth season, "Sailor Moon, Sailor Stars")
