Pretty Soldier Sailor Moon Season 1 (Episodes #1 - #46) The Sailors are reborn and must finally defeat the Dark Kingdom, their former enemy. |
| When this season first started, Jadeite, one of the four kings of the Dark Kingdom is Queen Beryl's first General. His mission was to gather energy to try to release Queen Metallia. His plan was to hold big events and steal energy from large crowds of people. At the same time, a young girl name Tsukino Usagi receives a message from a cat... a talking cat. The cat says her name is Luna and gives her an attractive brooch. Luna convinces the girl that she is a warrior named Sailor Moon that defends the earth from evil. Luna also tells her that she must help find the Moon Princess. Sailor Moon starts to kill Jadeite's youmas, evil servants from the Dark Kingdom, and stop his plans for gathering energy. She starts out very rough, but eventually gets the hang of being Saior Moon. Sailor Moon is continually helped by a masked warrior called Tuxedo Mask. In her human life, Usagi meets a young-man named Chiba Mamoru whom she dislikes. Mamoru happens to be Tuxedo Mask, but nobody knows this! Also later on, an intelligent girl named Mizuno Ami is suspected by Luna to be an agent from the Dark Kingdom. It turns out that Ami was actually another Sailor Soldier, Sailor Mercury! Usagi and Ami then become good friends. Later on, a young priestess name Hino Rei is discovered by the girls. Luna also figures out that she is Sailor Mars. However, Sailor Moon and Sailor Mars do not get along as well as do Sailor Moon and Sailor Mercury. The three of them continue to save Tokyo from evil and foil Jadeite's plans, which angers Queen Beryl greatly. Finally after much waiting, Queen Beryl got frustrated with Jadeite's constant failure and ordered him to dispose of the three Soldiers. He sends out a threat among the whole city and challenges them to a final battle. They all fight at an airport and Jadeite notices the girls transform into the Sailor Soldiers and concludes who their human identities are. Jadeite telekinetically controls airplanes and chases the Soldiers with them. Tuxedo Mask comes to help the Sailors, but Jadeite beats him and he is presumed dead by the Soldiers as they see him drowned in the ocean. In the end, the Sailors trick Jadeite. Sailor Moon distracts the jets while Mercury uses her "Bubble Spray" attack to creat a fog. Sailor Mars then puts her anti-evil sign on Jadeite and the planes fly towards him and he is run-over by one, but he is still alive! He leaves, and it is discovered the Tuxedo Mask is not dead after all as her congratulates the Soldiers. After the battle, the bruised and battered Jadeite returned to Beryl in defeat. He said that he knew who the Soldiers' were, but Beryl didn't want to listen to him. She froze him into eternal sleep and replaced his mission with Nephrite. Nephrite had to pick up where Jadeite left-off. But instead of stealing energy from large groups of people, he decided to find a single human by using his black crystal, increase their energy output by having them do activities more and more, then steal it from them by unleashing a youma to collect it when their energy reached the maximum level. Naru fell in love with him and he eventually fell in love with her also. Another general named Zoisite was jealous of Nephrite being the commander of the mission and tried to persue Queen Beryl to let him be the commander, but she did not. Another general named Kunzite, who is Zoisite's lover, was also introduced at this time. Zoisite eventually found out that Nephrite had fallen in love with Naru, so she captured her and used her as a hostage. Zoisite told Nephrite to give up the black crystal or she would die. Nephrite found and freed Naru from three of Zoistie's youmas, but they all just caught up with them again when Naru was trying to bandage Nephrite's wounds. Zoisite stole the black crystal from Nephrite and vanished. The three youmas were ordered to kill Nephrite, but Naru tried to protect him. They both were attacked, and Nephrite was severely injured. The Soldiers (Moon, Mercury, Mars) arrived and destroyed Zoisite's youmas, but could not save Nephrite. Nephrite then died in Naru's arms; his body slowly faded away while she cried for him. After Nephrite's death, Queen Beryl still had received enough energy from Nephrite and Jadeite combined to awaken Queen Metallia, the dark entity that created the Dark Kingdom. It told Beryl to retrieve the Seven Rainbow Crystals so she could create the Silver Crystal. The Seven Rainbow Crystals each contained one of the seven "super youmas", the Dark Kingdoms's best warriors. In the attack on the Moon Kingdom in the Silver Millenium, Queen Serenity encased the super youmas into the Silver Crystal's light. The Crystal then seperated into the seven different Rainbow Crystals. These crystals were lost inside seven specific people on Earth (one of which was a cat). Queen Beryl gave this mission to Zoisite. Zoisite would use Nephrite's black crystal to find the crystal carriers and would also use it to extract the crystal from them. Once the crystal has been extracted, the human changes into the super youma. Once the other soldiers have weakened the youma, Sailor Moon uses her newly granted Moon Stick to heal the youma back into a human. During this time, a very strong girl, who happens to be a great cook, named Kino Makoto has transferred into Usagi's school. This girl is noticed by Luna to be Sailor Jupiter. The battle for the Rainbow Crystals was divided into three teams: The Sailor Soldiers, the Dark Kingdom, and Tuxedo Mask. Tuxedo Mask wanted to get the crystals because he kept having a dream about a princess telling him to find the Silver Crystal. The Sailor Soldiers only retrieve one, while Tuxedo Mask has several and so does the Dark Kingdom. Kunzite and Zoisite worked together on a mission to get Tuxedo Mask's crystals. Zoisite disguised himself as Sailor Moon and when Tuxedo Mask saved him, he stabbed him in the back and revealed that it was Zoisite and not Sailor Moon. While Zoisite was attacking Tuxedo Mask, his mask flew off and Queen Beryl identified him as Prince Endymion from the Silver Millenium (Read the Silver Millenium Story). Tuxedo mask was saved by a mysterious girl and he escaped. Meanwhile, Kunzite had trapped the four Sailor Soldiers and held them hostage for Tuxedo Mask's crystals. Zoisite warned Kunzite about the unknown girl, but he was not afraid. Tuxedo Mask appeared because he did not want the Sailor Soldiers to die. But before Tuxedo Mask gave them his crystals, the mysterious, unknown girl, Sailor Venus, appeared and rescued them all. Before a battle broke-out, Queen Beryl called back Zoisite and Kunzite because of a change of plans. Queen Beryl wanted to capture Tuxedo Mask and turn him to their side. And since she knew his human identity, she sent Zoisite to do the job. Sailor Venus is a girl named Aino Minako who was formerly the superhero named Sailor V. With her she brings another guardian cat named Artemis, who is an old friend of Luna. Zoisite communicated Mamoru and challenged him to a final duel. On his way to the rendez-vous point, Usagi noticed that Mamoru was bleeding where Zoisite had stabbed him. Thus she followed him to see what was going on. Mamoru and Usagi were both brought into a building, but Usagi is unconscious. Zoisite and Mamoru meet each other inside. They both put their share of Rainbow Crystals down on the floor evenly between them, ready to start their fight. Kunzite then teleported onto the scene, stole the crystals, and disappeared. Mamoru knew he had been double-crossed and he cuts Zoisite's face with one of his roses. At this time, Usagi wakes up and notices Zoisite and gets concered. Zoisite gets very angry and the room starts to collapse. Zoistie disappears and orders them to go to the roof. The two of them get into an elevator and go up top. Inside the elevator, Mamoru tells Usagi about his life: When he was a child, he and his parents were in a car accident. He survived, but his parents were killed. However he lost his memory of who he was. He said that he has had dreams of a princess telling him to get the Silver Crystal, which is why he is after them. They reach the top, but Zoisite tries to kill them by sending a fireball towards them. To save herself and Mamoru, Usagi transforms into Sailor Moon. Mamoru is suprised greatly. Zoisite thinks she has killed both of them, but Sailor Moon appears to Zoisite. While there, Mamoru transforms into Tuxedo Mask, much to Sailor Moon's shock. Zoisite then creates a crystallized-spear which she strikes Tuxedo Mask with. Saior Moon was devistated and started to cry. When Sailor Moon cried, her tears made the Rainbow Crystals leave the posession of Kunzite and combine into one and create the Silver Crystal, which embedded itself on Sailor Moon's Moon Stick. At this time, Sailor Mercury, Sailor Mars, Sailor Jupiter, Sailor Venus, Luna, and Artemis all arrive. Everyone watches in astonishment as Sailor Moon changes into Princess Serenity, the Moon Princess they were searching for. Zoisite gets very angry and attacks the Princess, but the Princess just uses the Silver Crystal to attack Zoisite back again. Zoisite is now severly injured. Kunzite appears and helps Zoisite. He then captures Tuxedo Mask and brings him to Queen Beryl. Luna and Artemis now slightly remember the time of the Silver Millenium and tell it to the Soldiers. Kunzite and Zoisite return to Queen Beryl. Queen Beryl surprisingly kills Zoisite for disobeying (trying to kill Tuxedo Mask when Queen Beryl wanted him alive). Kunzite now became the mission leader. He blamed Sailor Moon for Zoisite's death and tried to kill her, but the power of the Silver Crystal was too strong for him, and he backed-down and vanished. Mamoru was later brain-washed by Queen Beryl. Beryl used him to try to lure Sailor Moon into the Dark Kingdom, and to try to reharness the powers of the Rainbow Crystal carriers to create the super youmas (Niether attempts worked, however). Kunzite and Evil Prince Endymion did not get along and often accidentaly failed missions because of their quarrels. Sailor Moon revived him with the Silver Crystal, but Queen Beryl teleported him back to the Dark Kingdom where she brain-washed him once more. The Soldiers searched for a way to get inside the Dark Kingdom so they could go in and rescue Mamoru. Artemis and Minako find a vortex into the Dark Kingdom in the "Crown Video Arcade". The Soldiers, Luna, and Artemis pass through into the Dark Kingdom. They split up into two groups, the Soldiers went one way, and Luna and Artemis went another way. Unfortunately, the Soldiers were stopped by Kunzite. He created a time warp and threw the Soldiers inside of it as he tried to grab the Silver Crystal. But the Silver Crystal fell through the time warp with the Soldiers. From the time-warp, they were sent to the Moon in the end of the Silver Millenium where they met the spirit of the Moon Godess, Queen Serenity, who revealed to them of their past lives on the Moon. Queen Serenity sent them back to the Dark Kingdom, where they encountered Luna and Artemis being attacked by Kunzite. Kunzite injured Mercury, Mars, Jupiter, and Venus using energy blades. But Sailor Moon was able to deflect one of the blades back at him with her Moon Stick. It struck him in the chest and he faded away. Bruised and battered, Luna and Artemis told them about a place called the "D-point" in the North Pole where they think will lead to Queen Beryl. All the Soldiers then aggree that they will teleport to the "D-point" and defeat Queen Beryl. The Soldiers then teleported to the D-point in attempt to kill Queen Beryl. While there, the Sailors were killed by the DD Girls, five of Queen Beryl's most powerful youmas. However, the DD Girls were also killed. Jupiter sacrificed her life to kill two of them, Mercury did not kill a youma, but she used her mini-computer to crack the stone in the leader's fore-head so they could no longer make illusions. Sailor Venus killed one, and Mars killed two before she died. In the end, only Sailor Moon was left alive. She beleived she could not win, but the spirits of the four Sailors visit her and encourage her. Sailor Moon reaches the citadel of the Dark Kingdom, but Queen Beryl brings her into the Dark Kingdom. There, Prince Endymion tried to kill Sailor Moon because of Beryls orders. To defend herself, she tried to heal him, but it did not work agains Queen Bery's brainwashing. She later used her tiara to injure him and buy herself some time. Prince Endymion was about to strike her with his sword, but she convinced him of their love. He touched the Star Locket, a gift he had given Princess Serenity in the Silver Millenium, and he turned back to good. Beryl tried to kill them both at the same time by throwing a giant stone spear at them, but Prince Endymion threw a rose which hit her in the chest. Beryl felt heart-broken and betrayed that he did this to her. She fell to the floor and disappeared through the ground. Asking Queen Metallia for help, Beryl was then consumed by Queen Metallia and the two begame one large entity. Princess Serenity then used the Silver Crystal to destroy Beryl with the aid from the spirit-forms of the Sailor Soldiers. They all, along with Prince Endymion, returned to start new lives with no memory of their past.
