My Rockets

Scratchbuilt "Wyvern"

My pride and joy. This rocket's tube fins are made from four interlocking and specially cut pieces of BT-80 tube. Check back on my Fleet page soon for assembly instructions and templates to make one of your own. Also, click on the image for an elargement.

Slightly different angle.

Scratchbuilt "Infinite Loop" Starfighter

The upper (and lower...trust me, they're there) ring fins and the scoops are both formed from two pieces of BT-60 that have been cut and interlocked to form these pieces. The wing tips are made from the plastic tips of safety darts.

Rear view, showing the fin geometry and rear ejection pod. The yellow line is Kevlar. The white is sewing elastic. The metal loop at the front of the pod is made from a trimmed safety pin. The silver ring at the rear is a slice of the main body tube, painted silver to resemble a jet engine exhaust shroud.

Rear view, with ejection pod in place for flight.

Estes Bullpup 12D

My Estes Bullpup on the rail, ready to fly.

Quest Falcon

My daughter's Falcon...almost looks stock, doesn't it?

Sarah had so much fun putting all those stickers on this rocket!

Estes Gyroc Clone

One side of my Gyroc clone. I love flying this rocket! Click on the image for an enlargement.

The red side...when it comes in spinning the rocket seems to turn purple. Click on the image for an enlargement.

Gyroc on the rail, ready to go.

Estes Mini-Shuttle Clone

Estes Mini-Shuttle clone. The cargo bay door is labelled with the names of the lost crew of STS-107. Not as much of a tribute as they deserve, by any means, but it felt right.

Estes Orbital Transport, In Progress

The results of completing step 1 of the instructions...not much to look at yet, but check back for progress photos...I just finished cutting out the mountain of lumber needed for this bird.
