Heather Nova

Welcome to my Heather Nova page! For those of you who aren't familiar with Heather Nova she's a singer. An amazing singer actually (in my opinion anyways). This isn't going to be some obsessed fanatic page, it's just a page to, umm, show that I like her music? I guess so (my homepage is about things I like). So yeah, that's what this page is for (or whatever it turns out to be anyways).

To date, I only have three of Heather Nova's albums, Siren, Oyster, and Blow. The only available albums in Canada (where I live) are Siren & Oyster, and as it was, Oyster had to be ordered off of the internet. My boyfriend kindly imported the Blow album for me and is awaiting on another one (I'm not sure which one).

Unfortunately, at this time I don't have too much information about the artist herself or her history. But I do display what little I have found out, as well as her album discography (not singles), and the occasional picture.

Heather Nova was born in Bermuda and lived on a yacht from the time she was 7 years until she was 15 while playing the violin and guitar.

When she was 15 her parents went to the States so that Heather could go to school. At the age of 19 Heather went to the Rhode Island School of Design and studied film and painting there. After a short while she moved to New York to pursue her music, only to be turned away by major recording companies.

She then moved on to England where she finally released These Walls, now known as the First Recordings. In May of 1993 she released Glowstars after she met up with the guitarist Youth. Glowstars was released on Youth's Butterfly label. This was her first studio release, though it only really consisted of demos.

Shortly after, Big Cat records released Heather's live debut album, Blow. In November of 1994, Youth produced Heathers second studio album, Oyster. Since then, Heather has released two more albums. In 1995, Live from the Milky Way was recorded live in Amsterdam. Heather's third studio and latest album, Siren was released in 1998. The track London Rain (Nothing heals me like you do) was featured on the Dawson's Creek soundtrack in 1999.

And that is all of the background information I have on Heather.
