Warriors versus Highland Scots (Bakersfield)
The Warriors lead the overall series with the Scots, 8-5-1, with the two schools first playing each other in 1992. The kelly green and royal blue
clad Scots defeated the Wariors 28-12 in 2021; 48-15 in 2019; and 47-12 in 2018. The Warriors broke the losing streak with wins in 2022, 42-7, and 2023, 29-7.
The two schools played each other six straight seasons in non-league contests between 1992 and 1997.
The competition was resumed with a second round CIF playoff game in 2007, won by Tehachapi.
The high school is located at 2900 Royal Scots Way in northeast Bakersfield. According to the Kern High School District,
Highland opened its doors in 1970 and has a student population of 2,385 students (2022).
