Head coach Albert "Corky" Roberts guided the varsity football program for three years from 1961 through 1963.
During that time, the Warriors had a combined 15-10-2 record. In Roberts final year as a coach,
the 1963 grid team won a tri-championship in the Desert-Inyo League.
Roberts would go on to become the long time Principal at Tehachapi High School from 1965 to 1982.
During this time, he was an avid supporter of Tehachapi athletic programs.
As a tribute to Roberts, the school district named the high school gymnasium after him in January 1989.
