Letchworth Garden City was one of the first towns to have "zoning", and this is the main industrial area, next to the railway, and separated (as much as possible) from the residential areas. Latterly it has also become the home to Letchworth's out-of-town shopping area.

One of Letchworth several sports fields can be seen here. Two public cricket squares (this being the summer) can clearly be seen, and across the road from them the plush home of Letchworth Football Club (the "County Ground"), and next to that the home of Letchworth Garden City Eagles (the town's main junior side). The town's sports centre ("North Herts Leisure Centre") and indoor swimming pool is just off to the right.

Letchworth - an otherwise small town in north Hertfordshire, England - is famous as being the world's first "Garden City", being founded in 1903 by Ebenezer Howard. Many social and planning innovations that we take for granted today first appeared in Letchworth. For more information on the town see here.
