The main feeder road for the estate - Radburn Way - sweeps
around the eastern side of Jackmans Estate, with Lannock
JMI School at its centre. The distinctive red roofs of the more recent
private development on the former Letchworth Creamery site at the bottom of the
picture stand out clearly, as does the other private development on the site of
the former Willian Secondary School. |
Letchworth - an otherwise small town in north Hertfordshire, England - is famous as being the world's first "Garden City", being founded in 1903 by Ebenezer Howard. Many social and planning innovations that we take for granted today first appeared in Letchworth. For more information on the town see here. |
