Moscow is the capital of Russia. It is situated between rivers Oka and Volga, on the river Moscow. The border of the city is situated alongside Moscow car way. The founder was Great Prince Yuri Volodimirovich. History keeps him as Yuri Dolgoruki. For the first time Moscow was mentioned in the chronicle in 1147. In the 13 century Moscow was the centre of some principalities, in the 14 century it was the centre of Moscow principality, in the 15 century it was the capital of Russia. During the Patriotic War in 1812 Moscow was destroyed after Napoleon I. After peasant reform in 1861 textile, shoe, food and metallurgical enterprises increased in Moscow. After the Revolution Moscow became the capital in 1918 again. Moscow Kremlin and Red Square are the historical centre of Moscow. People call Moscow as goldenhead because of the big number of churches. Names of the streets, squares, lanes, avenues, boulvardes, embankments in the capital are the result of the multiancient history of the city. They tell about the nature and the landscape, about people, who were the famous as masters of textile work, pottery, smithery and cookery.
Kremlin Moscow Kremlin is one of the biggest museums in the world. You can see all of the main sights, Russian state regalias, priceless icons, treasures of Russian tsars and many other interesting things.
V. I. Lenin Mausoleum The Granitic Mausoleum was opened in 1930. It's the centre of the necropolis in Red Square.
The State Historical Museum The museum was founded in 1872. Its fund boasts about 4,5 million exhibits and contains a great collection of Russian weapon, manuscripts, old books, clothes, historical portraits, golden and silver things etc.
The Cathedral of St. Basil the Blessed The Cathedral was built by order of Ivan Groznyi in honor of the victory from Tartar invasions in 1555-1561. People call it "The stone flower of the Red Square".
Red Square- the heart of Moscow. The word "Red" means beautiful.
