"The Family Abduction That Could"The Kidnapped Keene Kids
After almost eight years of abduction and abuse, who knows what is going on in the hearts and heads of these precious children, Grace Josephine Keene, 18, and James Rogers Keene, 15.
What kind of abusive lack of proper child care have they received in the last eight years to drain life out of their minds, hearts and souls? To not allow a child to know his own parent is one of the most horrific acts of cruelty that a person can do.
We all know the classic hostage and prisoner syndromes where detained and dependent people – children or adults – will say and do almost anything to appease their keepers.
If the children see this web site, I hope they will write whatever they want and I will post it right here! Saying something is better than muted silence.
All I know is that in 1998 I was allowed to see the children for a few minutes, mainly because the children "demanded" to see me. And they looked just terrible -- sad, afraid, lifeless. What a parent can see, comparing before and after the abduction, then three years earlier. I hugged my son, and it was like holding a lifeless, dead boy in my arms. It was pathetic, the obvious severe damage to the hearts, souls and minds of these innocent children.
The Victim Parent: Who am I?
a. An innocent parent who has had his children taken away wrongfully.
b. A U.S. citizen denied fundamental rights in a U.S. (Puerto Rico) court.
c. A victim of persecution merely because I am the father of some children (including defamation and loss of job).
d. A kind and gentle soul who is totally non-violent and who has never been and is not presently a threat to anyone at all. Despite defamation to the contrary, there is no evidence whatsoever for the contrary.
e. A person who can honestly say there is no one on earth that I have ever hurt.
f. A person who has never suffered from any mental health problem, ever.
[Pretty lucky in physical health, too. Health is a gift from God. Thank you, God.]
g. A person who does not feel that doing nothing is an alternative to this sort of treatment. Indeed, "doing nothing" would be a betrayal of my children.Except for one member, this is a group of childless sisters and brothers who see fit to steal my children and hide and detain them, preventing the children from knowing their own father or his side of their family.
This group of, um, misfits can be described as co-abductors. They participate in hiding the children and lie about the whereabouts of the children.
They have been involved in the Spanish version of African belief systems, like Voo Doo in Haiti, called Espiritismo in Puerto Rico. This is a widespread belief with some relation to what might be called "folk medicine" and in itself, is not particularly objectionable. However, coupled with the wicked behavior by the Davis-Flores gang of essentially isolating and enslaving my children, I have come to view them as some kind of Satanic cult. This cult angle is at least a memorable description of the behavior I have observed.
The parental abductor is no less than a M.D. with a specialty in psychiatry. This is a wonderful educational background for a kidnapper. It is definitely an advantage as far as credibility with strangers goes.
Who would think that a psychiatrist was a deeply troubled sufferer from depression, panic attacks, delusions, paranoid thinking and memory loss? The beneficial effects for success as an abductor and con artist of these professional credentials are magnified in Puerto Rico where a specialist M.D. seems to be held in higher regard than in the mainland U.S.A.
There is much to absorb in the drama of such person trading status as a respected parent for life as a child abuser and abductor. Betrayal and hiding are now her watchwords. Having suffered abuse herself as a child, as has been described by her own best friend from childhood, Nyda Figuero, M.D., she now has in effect "resigned" as mother and chosen a new career – essentially as an outlaw.
Sandra Cooles and Dr. Philip Cooles
And then there is the British physician, Dr. Philip Cooles and his wife Sandra.
Did Dr. Philip Cooles and Dr. Nilda Keene make a deal to cover up details of all of the participants in the kidnapping? Or was the involvement of his own family sufficient motive for aggressive behavior against the victim parent?
Sandra provided the transportation for Nilda on the day of the kidnapping. On that day, Sandra apparently set aside every moral and ethical principle she held dear. Although Sandra and Dr. Cooles later reported basic facts of the abduction, their full involvement remains to be clarified. More will be revealed regarding the participation of Dr. Cooles on that fateful day. Where were the Cooles children on that day? Do they have information from that day or their later correspondence with my kidnapped children?
It is known that both Sandra and Dr. Cooles acted to support the efforts of the Davis-Flores gang in a number of ways. They repeated to all that might help the slander "cover story" of the kidnappers. Basically, it was the "blame the victim" strategy.
Upon reflection, it is reasonable that the Cooles family may have realized the horrific folly of their actions. The present theory is that much of the rest of their behavior was an effort to cover up their highly questionable behavior supporting the objectives of the kidnappers.
It may be that at a very early stage of the kidnapping, Drs. N. Keene and P. Cooles made a deal. They both had something the other wanted. Nilda needed Philip's help to defame the victim parent, myself, James Keene. Philip needed Nilda to keep quiet about details of the involvement of Sandra, his wife, as a so-called accessory for the kidnapping and possibly his own involvement. When two people each have something the other wants and needs, a deal or trade is often made.
For example, Dr. Cooles spread these same falsehoods internationally to friends in Haifa, Israel, which was relayed to another physician, Dr. David S. Ruhe, then an elected member of the highest international administrative unit of the Baha'i Faith. That was foolishness on the part of Dr. Cooles, since Dr. Ruhe is an extremely distinguished and honest man, and a long-time correspondant of mine. At that time, Dr. Ruhe was in California and took the time from his busy schedule to write to me, extremely concerned about what he had heard. I replied that those were falsehoods in the "cover story" of kidnappers who were aided by Sandra and Dr. Cooles.
I later requested and received from the Baha'i World Centre, Haifa, Israel, a written confirmation listing specific dates of letters written by Dr. Cooles to them concerning these false allegations. Maybe Dr. Cooles overlooked the obvious -- that there are many honest people who are not gullible in this world.
Later, in 1998, Dr. Cooles did his part to spread this same slander at my workplace which resulted in the termination of my employment contract. As a Dean and Department Chairman at Ross University School of Medicine, Dr. Cooles was well positioned to undertake this treachery, as evidence indicates.
Why would Dr. Cooles further endanger his own professional reputation in such dirty doings? Especially when his target -- myself -- was one of the most well-liked faculty by students, faculty and administration on the medical school campus. The behavior of Dr. Cooles suggests that he himself believes that the Cooles family role in this kidnapping is a very serious matter, indeed.
The idea which could be part of such a Cooles & Davis-Flores deal came out of Nilda's own mouth just eight days after the kidnapping. Reviewing documents recently, I noticed that Nilda told me in a phone conversation "that she was certain I had a brain tumor and would be dead within a few months, that I would be loosing my job shortly,..." [Feb 9, 8:00PM, Thought Content of Nilda]. Just rantings of a deluded personality? There was no brain tumor and I am still alive, but how could a totally deluded person just stumble on the "loosing my job" part? Did she have prior knowledge because a trade-off with Dr. Cooles was already in the works?
So it might be fair to say that the Cooles have been an effective "local office" for the Davis-Flores kidnap gang. By their own admission, the Cooles family continued correspondance with the Davis-Flores gang for more than a year after the kidnapping. Were the contents of this correpondence ever shared with me, the victim father? No, they were not. What are the Cooles hiding?
Now is the time to seek documents from Sandra and Dr. Cooles, to give them the opportunity to come clean on their behavior.

Maybe someone else will have better luck in asking him why he won't hand over documents to a victim parent of child kidnapping. Click here if you want to email him yourself.
