Here's to you Jeff Gordon!!!
Dale Earnhardt Jr. His time has
come!
What can you say about this kid,
other than he's an Earnhardt?? Twice
Busch series champion, first repeat
winner of the 2000 season in his
rookie year, won the Winston, puts the Bud # 8
on the pole in record
setting time, and usually qualifies near
the front of the
pack!. Sure,
he was a little wild at the beginning of the season, but what
rookie isn't.
Bottom line is, he's learning from two excellent teachers,
his father and
an outstanding crew
chief and it's starting to show. In the
beginning,
Dale Jr. had one
speed, flat out. But as the 2000 season
continues, the
maturity is starting to show. He's holding back, picking
his spots on the
track to pass, and saving his tires. But, make no
mistake, if an opening
is there, he's going thru it, FLAT OUT!!!
He's fast, he's daring, but he's
safe. Like his father, he's not afraid
to rub a little, and he sure as
hell will push you down the track. During
the very late stages of this
years Coca-Cola 600 , Dale Earnhardt Sr.
was running down the leader. In a
post race interview, Dale said"
I thought I had something for the leader,
until I looked in the
mirror and here comes the kid. My only thought was I
Don't Believe It"
Bye Bye DaDa.
As of this writing, Dale Jr. is 14th
in Winston Cup Points and climbing.
He is a close
second to Matt Kenseth in the rookie points. This kid will
win again in 2000, and I don't
suspect it will be too long, and we'll
see him in December at the Winston Cup
banquet as the champion.
Below are some
pictures of Dale Jr. Click on each to enlarge them.
