Three turnovers by the Steeldogs, all at the worst times, ruined Montressa Kirby's first start in the af2. Kirby did not disappoint, going 17 of 29 for 290 yards and 5 passing touchdowns. He also ran for a score. Wayne Thomas had a spectacular night, catching 11 passes for 164 yards and three touchdowns. The Steeldogs lost their first road opener in team history.
