The Sting have won their fourth consecutive national title
after defeating the Canterbury Flames 54-48 tonight. During
the week leading up to the National Bank Cup final, the press
have predicted that the game will probably be Bernice Mene's
last. Mene has said that she will not be making her decision
until meeting with the Sting board later in the year.
2 June 2002
After winning eight out of eight preliminary matches,
the Sting have qualified for the National Bank Cup final by
defeating the Capital Shakers 68-49. The Sting will play the
Canterbury Flames in the final in Invercargill next weekend.
25 May 2002
Television show "The Knowledge Breakfast" commences
on TVONE and will run for eight weeks with Bernice Mene as
co-presenter.
14 February 2002
Bernice Mene and partner Dion Nash became engaged on Valentines
Day. They plan to marry in February 2003.
January 2002
Bernice Mene announces her retirement from New Zealand's
national netball team, the Silver Ferns, which she had
captained for three years.
