And here's a piece of news that Lloyd sent in:
Avanzado skipping San Carlos for Dubai Golden Shaheen
Multiple Grade 2 winner Avanzado (Arg) will bypass the San Carlos Handicap (G1) on Sunday at Santa Anita Park and will instead train up to the $2-million Dubai Golden Shaheen (UAE-G1) on the Dubai World Cup (UAE-G1) undercard at Nad al Sheba racecourse on March 29. The six-year-old son of Luhuk is coming off a 4˝-length victory in the six-furlong Palos Verdes Handicap (G2) on January 26 at Santa Anita Park. "He’s had a couple easy works since the last race and he should be ready to go," trainer Doug O’Neill said. "The plane leaves on March 15."

Feb 22--Tyler only had one win yesterday but it was a honey of a score, he brought home 10-1 shot Honeyofascore in the fourth for a payoff of $22.20/$9.00/$5.00. On a another note, here's a short blurb on Crackup from DRF:
Crackup laughs last
While his sprinter Roll Hennessy Roll runs short Sunday in the Baldwin Stakes, trainer Rafael Becerra is looking forward to longer races with 3-year-old prospects Crackup and Sum Trick. Both colts worked seven furlongs Friday morning at Santa Anita, and Crackup was particularly impressive. Crackup broke off about eight lengths behind older handicap runners Pleasantly Perfect and Olmodavor, narrowed the gap after a half-mile, and finished nearly even with those two. He was timed in a blazing 1:23.60.
"We're pointing for either the El Camino Real Derby" - March 8 at Golden Gate - "or the Gotham Mile" - March 16 at Aqueduct - Becerra said. Crackup bled and finished a distant fourth in his last start, Jan. 18 in the Santa Catalina, but Becerra hopes he can control the colt's bleeding for his next start. Crackup has won 3 of 6 and earned $328,8282.

Feb 21--Tomorrow Tyler will have three rides. Sunday he'll ride six, including Roll Hennessy Roll in the Grade III $100K Baldwin Stakes for three year olds down the hill.

Feb 18--Tyler has three rides for Thursday: Billy C in the 3rd, Jenna's Joy in the 6th, and Hezacatseye in the 7th.

Feb 12--So far Tyler has won one race today, the 2nd with Trompolino ($6.40). He has four rides both tomorrow and Friday.

Feb 8--Only two rides for Tyler today. Tomorrow he has five, but alas, none in the stakes.

Feb 5--Four rides for Tyler tomorrow. I have updated the Calendar Feature on the mailing list website to list the Southern California stakes schedule. So far everything up to March is updated. Visit the mailing list website at http://groups.yahoo.com/group/tylerbazefans

PBS Sets Date to Air Seabiscuit Documentary
by Ron Mitchell
"Seabiscuit, an American Experience," a documentary produced by award-winning film-maker Stephen Ives, will air on PBS stations April 21 as part of the "American Experience" series. "Seabiscuit's story provides an ideal prism through which to view numerous facets of Depression-era American life, including: the nation's desperate search for escapism, the explosion of advertising and radio, and the cultural dominance of horse-racing itself, the most popular sport of that era," Ives said of the documentary that had its sneak preview last August at the National Museum of Racing and Hall of Fame. ...... In addition to the documentary, the Universal-DreamWorks- Spyglass Entertainment film based on Laura Hillenbrand's best-selling book "Seabiscuit: An American Legend" is scheduled for release July 25, 2003. The movie stars " Tobey Maguire, Jeff Bridges, and Chris Cooper.

Apr 30--Derby News! from DRF:
Indian Express (five furlongs in 59.72 seconds). Was the first horse on the track following the renovation break along with his stablemate Kafwain (five furlongs in 59.72), who was withdrawn from Derby consideration shortly after returning to his barn following his workout. With regular exercise rider Dana Barnes aboard, Indian Express broke off inside Kafwain and breezed along with his mate through splits of 24.25 and 36.12 for the opening quarter-mile and three-eighths. Indian Express got out slightly entering the stretch but quickly straightened away once changing leads and ran his final quarter mile in 23.60 while continuing to cruise along unpressured. At the wire, he was beginning to edge away from Kafwain, who had to be put to urging just to keep pace. Indian Express galloped out a strong six furlongs in 1:12.81 in his second very impressive work in the last six days.
