"I think men who have a pierced ear are better prepared for marriage - They've
experienced pain and bought jewelry." - Rita Rudner
Lesson Four
What does it mean to be a Pagan? Not necessarily a Wicca, Druid, Shaman or Witch...but a "Pagan". Is it the jewelery or the black clothes? Maybe it is that magick thing? No. Pagan is coming to terms with all the life and energy patterns around you. It is looking at the thorn of the rose and feeling it prick your skin as you smell its sweet fragrance. It's realizing you are not the center of the Universe, but everybody else is. It is the knowledge that life exists and you must experience it. It is realizing you will die...and that you can except it.
Exercise One.
Go about your day. Look around. Find ten things Pagan. You will be suprised where you will find them. Laughter, friends, dust, sunlight...these are all part of your life. What else can you find?
Exercise Two.
Sit in the sun. Let it flow over you. How do you feel? Do this for one month under different times of the day.
Exercise Three.
Sit under the moon. Let it flow over you. How do you feel? Do this for one month under different phases of the moon.
Exercise Four.
After one month, write down what it means to YOU what being a Pagan is. This is personal and no two people will have the same answers.
