About an hour later Matt left his locker room in search of Leah. Matt walked into the lounge and found his friends sitting at a table having their make up done. Matt had a match in about 30 minutes and he wanted to talk to Leah about what had happened earlier today before his match. “Hey!” Matt said as he greeted the group and everyone turned to say hello to him. “Has anyone seen Leah?” Matt asked as Jeff looked up at him. “You haven’t talked to her yet?” Amy asked interrupting what Jeff was about to say. “No, I can’t find her.” Matt answered still annoyed that Amy was being so forward and open about what they had privately disgussed, although Matt was sure everyone knew by now what had happened with Leah and Rick and knew about Matt’s “previous” crush on the famous musician. Amy stared at Matt for a moment and sighed as she leaned back against Jeff. “Last time I saw her she was in her dressing room.” Amy answered softly as Matt stared back at her. Matt could feel everyone’s eye’s on him and he grinned, “I’ll be back for my make up shortly.” Matt said speaking softly directing his comment to Sylvia one of the make up artists for the wrestling, but he was still staring at Amy as he did so. Matt grit his teeth as he turned away and disappeared from the room. Matt sighed as he started walking down the hallway in the direction of Leah’s dressing room. Matt got to the door and took a deep breath, he knocked on the door gently and waited for a response to come in. “Who is it?” Matt heard a well-known voice ask quietly. Matt grinned. “It’s me.” Matt said softly, as he watched the door slowly open. Matt smiled at Leah as she opened the door wider for him. Her hair was loose and it wrapped around her. She was wearing a pair of jeans and a WWE sweatshirt, she looked tired and weary, but always cute. “Hi.” Matt said softly as he shut the door behind himself. Leah had gone and sat down on the couch an pulled a pillow across her lap and she now stared up at him and sighed. “Hi.” Leah said softly rubbing her head. “Are you okay?” Matt asked as he slowly started walking towards the couch. “Yeah I’m fine.” Leah said softly as Matt sat down next to her and took her hand. Leah stared at him and thought of pulling her hand away but couldn’t resist Matt’s soft warm touch. What was wrong with her? Some how maybe Rick was right.... it would never work out between them, there careers would always be in the way. Leah frowned as she stared at Matt, his dark eye’s seemed to trap her own. Was she nuts? Matt was gorgeous…. She didn‘t need to listen to Rick anymore, he was history. “I want to apologize Matt.” Leah said softly as Matt shook his head. “You have nothing to apologize to me for Lee.... Rick was an asshole.... he could have really hurt you.... I’m just happy your okay, I’m sorry I didn’t get there sooner, I should be the one apologizing to you....” Matt said smiling at her. “No you had no control over Rick Matt.... I’m just happy that he won’t be bothering me anymore.... he’s just always around and I’m glad he’s gone.” Leah said smiling at Matt. Matt grinned, “Me too.” Matt said softly as he stared at Leah. Leah sighed, “I don’t wanna disappoint you or Amy… but, I don’t think I’m really up to going out tonight.” Leah said frowning. Matt grinned, “I didn’t think you’d feel up to going out... it’s okay, but I will take a rain check on the date!” Matt said as Leah blushed and Matt laughed. “I hate him for hurting you Lee.....” Matt whispered as Leah frowned staring at him. “I hate him too.” Leah whispered as Matt smiled. After a few minutes Matt spoke, “So about my rain check, how about tomorrow night?” Matt asked as Leah giggled. “I’ll have to check my busy schedule, maybe I can pencil you in!” Leah smiled as Matt chuckled and set his head back and sighed. “Pencil me in..... what a brat!” Matt mumbled as Leah laughed and tossed the pillow into Matt’s face. Matt laughed as he set the pillow aside and slide his arms around Leah and hugged her gently. Leah sighed as she snuggled against Matt and closed her eye’s content in his arms. Leah was tired and Matt was warm and it felt wonderful to be in his arms, especially after the scene earlier. “Would you mind if I hung out with you later then, instead of going to the clubb... I’d just rather hangout with you?” Matt asked softly a few minutes later as Leah looked up at him and smiled. “I wouldn’t mind at all. I’m gonna watch your match and then head back to the hotel, why don’t you just call me when you get back to the hotel.” Leah said smiling as Matt shook his head. “Okay.” Matt smiled as he got to his feet, “I better go get my make up done, my match is coming up.” Matt said smiling at her as he backed away to the door. “I’ll be watching.” Leah said smiling. Matt grinned, thrilled with the fact that Leah’s eyes would be on him somewhere. Matt smiled, “I’ll call you later.” Matt smiled as Leah waved at him and Matt slipped out into the hallway and closed the door. Matt leaned against the door a moment and felt nothing but total hope.... there was still hope..... and a lot of it. *** Later… Leah awoke to the sound of the phone next to her on the dresser ringing. She was snuggled nice and warm in her hotel bed sleeping peacefully. Leah groaned sitting up glancing at the alarm clock besides her bed as she reached for the phone. 11:14pm. She smiled hoping it would be Matt. “Hello.” Leah said rubbing her eyes trying to rub the sleepy feeling away. “Hey.” Matt said softly. Leah smiled hearing Matt’s sweet voice. “Hi Matt, where are you?” Leah asked as she got up and stretched. “Did I wake you Lee?” Matt asked chuckling at the obviously sleepy sound of Leah’s voice. Leah giggled, “Yeah, I was tired… I laid down when I got back. It’s been a rough day.. You know.“ Leah said softly pausing as she sighed, “So your match was awesome Matt! You kicked John Cena’s ass….. I was very impressed.” Leah said laughing as Matt chuckled. Matt laughed, “Were you huh?“ Matt asked smiling. “I was…. I’m serious it was very cool.” Leah said smiling as she looked around and saw that the fire in the fireplace was still burning brightly. “Thanks Lee. So do you still feel like having company, I’m on my way to the hotel now?” Matt asked as he stopped the car at a street light. Leah grinned yawning, “I fell asleep waiting for you…..” Leah said softly as she plopped back down onto the bed and closed her eye’s as she waited for Matt to say something. Matt grinned, “Are you sure you want me to come hangout…. You could rest.” Matt said softly hoping she would still want him, because he wanted nothing but to just simply sit with her if that was all there was to be. Leah sighed, as she rolled onto her back and stared at the glow of the fire light on the ceiling. She wanted Matt to come to see her… more then anything… he was amazing and how could she feel any differently? “Matt I have my whole life to rest and to sleep….. I haven’t seen you in almost 5 years…. I can lack sleep for one night to hangout with you! Trust me…. I‘ll get over being tired! I want you to come.” Leah said rubbing her head. Matt chuckled, “Okay, I’ll be there in a few minutes alright?” Matt said smiling as the light turned green and he started driving again. “Yeah, I’ll be waiting for you!” Leah said smiling as she sat up. “Okay Lee, I’ll see you in a few minutes.” Matt said softly smiling as he heard Leah hang up. Matt grinned, he couldn’t wait to see her. Leah set the phone down and smiled, Matt was coming here to see her, they’d be alone…….. Rick was gone there would be no interruption now… no one would be around to mess things up…. Even if for just once, Leah just wanted to feel Matt’s lips kissing her own.
