1. Who is Siktiket and where did you come from ?
Gregg Shore - Lead Vocals & Keys
- Des Moines, Iowa,
Swamps of Florida.
Zach Akin – Drums –
Monticello Iowa, Indianola. Iowa.
Justin Stinson – Bass
– Waukee, Adel, Des Moines Iowa, Lincoln Nebraska.
Richard Schmitt – Guitar & Vocals - Houston Texas, Des Moines Iowa.
Jeff Cain - My home town is Ottumwa, IA. And aside from school marching/jazz band and show choir, I never was in a band until I was 31.
At that time I was jamming in a band called the Jet Powered
Kitchen Dragsters with Dave Smith on drums (drummer for Sister Sara) and Greg Shore on bass (singer for Siktiket). I was on guitar and lead vocals, and those guys did backup vocals. That went on for a while
and faded like things do. Then in December of 2004 Dave asked if I wanted to get a band together for real. That result was Dave Smith on drums (now Sister Sara), Shaun Anderson on bass, me on rhythm guitar, Chuck Vierling on lead guitar (now Sister Sara), and Greg Shore on lead vocals.
That was the line up of the first real band I was ever in, Shatter Stone. Well, things happen, people go their separate ways, and one things leads to another and now I'm in Siktiket!
2.Can you all name the bands you have played in previously?
Greg – Pain Mother Mercy
Richard – 1st real band
Zack – I’m a virgin, this is my 1st J Justin – Moral Risk, Headbangers Ballz.
Jeff - Shatter Stone 2005-2007
and Siktiket 2007-Present
3. Where you guys been hiding ( Betty Ford , Hazelden , Crossroads) ? What is New ?
Well other than taking a long break to spend time with our families and dealing with various setbacks we’ve been working on many new songs including a couple new originals.
We've been hiding in a 15x10 basement, and got a bunch of new stuff. We're trying really hard to make this new show all killer, no filler.
3. Best Gig So Far ?
Jeff - One of our best gigs was our first show at Sudsuckers 2009 New Years Eve, and when we got done playing Man in the Box, the crowd erupted with approval. Scared the shit out of me!
Richard - Definitely would be the IAROCFEST 2011. Rolling Thunder did the sound for the fest and the sound was awesome! It was great to have an opportunity to play with so many great local bands and pretty cool to be on a bill with
Skid Row and Slaughter.
5. Worst Gig ?
Jeff - We played Rock and Roll adventures in 2010, and the bugs were out in FORCE. I had bugs crawling in my mohawk! The folks that run it are great people, and they treated us great, but the bugs, oh the bugs....
Richard - At Rock-n-Row Adventures in Eldora, IA summer
of 2010. Everything that could go wrong did go wrong. We had problems with equipment, power issues, it was hot as hell, and the bugs were about to eat us alive.
I’m talking smashing bugs on the fret board, crawling down your
back and in your hair. I think Greg and Justin ate at least one. Thankfully some good friends brought up a generator so we
could even finish the show. The exhaust ended up being pointed directly at Zach’s leg so he was really burning up but it kept the mosquitoes away. We had people double fisting mosquito spray! Thanks to Sondra and Tracy
of Rock-n-Row to be understanding. They are
the coolest and always take care of us!
