Manfacturer: Philips Lighting Company
The Philips metal halide lamp shown here is a fairly early ED-28 lamp, made in 1990 and well before technology for metal halide lamps took off. Note the structure of the inner arc tube support. Unlike most metal halide lamps which have a molyenmum lead mounted as far from the arc tube as possible, this one has an ordinary partial wire frame similar to those in mercury vapor lamps. The glass rod on the lead next to the arc tube helps reduce cold spots, although not as effective as molyenmum leads mounted far away from the arc tube.
