This top quality mercury vapor lamp was made by Duro-Test Corp. The lamp is very well made and I have seen used examples that fared well. Another thing that is unique to this lamp that it is a safety mercury lamp. They have a built in incandescent filament which burns through in case of outer glass breakage, shutting off the arc tube and preventing UV danger.
Here's the fail-safe filament. It glows brightly after turned on, then gradually reduces in brightness as the arc tube warms up.
