A belated Happy New Year to you all. Today I'm (hopefully) going down to the Art Institute (if my family can get ready on time) to see the new show they have there. I'm looking forward to it.
School starts again on Monday, and I'm dreading it. This entire year has been one big mess after another. I don't know how I survive. On top of the fact that I'm taking some really time consuming and challenging classes, I'm also a junior, which means I have to prep for the ACT's and SAT's, look for colleges, and decide what I want to do with my life. Now I also have all the extracurruculars I'm involved in, and you get: nothing but work, work, and work. Serioulsy, if you take a look at my week in general, Monday through Friday I have stuff after school and homework, which means I have no free time. This wouldn't be so bad if I had the weekends to recover, but I don't. Saturday I have speech all day, and sunday I have to do all the homework my teachers assign, because htey think that since I have two whole days off from school, they should give me things to keep me from becoming too bored. I don't expect to have any semblance to a social life anytime soon, and I just hope I can make it through the year without suffering a nervous breakdown.

I am victorious! I have just finished Les Miserables!!!! (I think that deserves a few extra exclamation points) Towards the end it was such a rollercoaster ride. Things look up, then htey look down, then up, then down, and so on... Whew! I'm glad that's over! Reading such an intense book in such a short amount of time really plays with your mind. The same thing happened to me when I read the entire Lord of the Ring trilogy in one three day weekend, and when I read the fourth Harry Potter and Night in one day each. The way it affects the way you think, see, feel, and hear is so strange and different that I almost hate to read a good book. It takes me out of myself when I'm reading it, but when I finish, it plops me back in this world all of a sudden. It takes a while to readjust.
Today I found that my beloved radio station, Energy 92.7 (the techno station), is going off the air at midnight. Permanently. I'm ion mourning, but until then, I'm listening to it and enjoying the music *bops to the beat* Apparently, this radio station is the only dance station still in operation in the world. But not got long... *sigh* Of course, there are other stations who claim to play dance music, but there is no way they have trance (which is melodious techno, basically, and is very relaxing and energising all at the same time.) which I love above all other dance music (no mixes for me.) Well, life goes on. *eats bread*
I need a book to take my mind of Les Mis. I'm off to find one. Bye!

Interesting stuff, what goes on online...
We are SO dead... We haven't even started the interrelated stuff... OY VEY! I did take a nap this afternoon, so I'm not too tired, thatnk goodness. But it's pretty bad anyway, Night, folks.

And now, a haiku to my favorite floppy pup:
You, Patrick, my love:
So comfy to sleep upon.
Nighttime companion.
Reflections upon a style: Disco was a big fashion mistake, especially since it ushered in the '80's.
    Khyber Bullwhips, only $2.99. It's a steal!

Wow! It's been ten days since I put something up here. I feel like such a bad person. However, I did have an absolutely monstrous amount of homework, and I haven't gone to bed before midnight in a week (ususally I was up until two or three)
doing homework. Now, I'm supposed to be studying for finals, but all I've been doing for the past two weeks is work. I want to watch a movie, make dinner, and dance in the kitchen. I also want it to be summer. Desperately.
Now, I'm listening to The Spice Girls. There is absolutely nothing like the spice girls to dance to. It's pure fun.
Now it's U2. I'm aching so. No...that's not the word. Pining! I'm pining away.
I think that's how you spell it... Anyway, I'm off.

We have posted all the art and lit notes for Interrelated here. It got too big to post here. Luck!

Oh! I have a splitting headache. I have this not-so-primal urge to fill up the tub and soak with a book. I REALLY don't want to study anymore. %@$# school. What can cure this? A giant hug. But my resident hug distributor is sick, and I don't want to get her fever. *sigh*
"She's come undone" -My anthem for this week. I really am coming undone.

Well, Last night was interesting. Jo and I slept over at Joel's house with Katie, Jason, Karla, and Jeff, all veteren members of the speech team. We stayed up all night, and at 5 am, we kidnappped 3 novice members and took them to IHOP. Select highlights follow:
&nbps   The all night DDR marathon between Joel and Jason. They were passing out by the time 5 rolled around, and they were the only ones with cars.
Driving to Matt's house, pulling into the wrong driveway, and being threatened by a drunk guy with what appeared to be a gun (but it was only his fingers), threatening to call the police if we didn't "F---ing get out of his property" Since we had been awake for more than 24 hours and since it was dark, we ran away with all the speed of The Flash streaking through the White House (we all know it's happened, but the Flash travels at the speed of light, so nobody really sees him go). We regrouped at Jewel, and decided to give Matt a miss.
Then we went to Red-haired Katie's house, where another man was standing just inside the door. We were all set to make a break for it, when he popped out and said "Come in, she's still sleeping." ...Even at 6 am, she looks way too pretty.
We acted like maniacs wehn we finally got to IHOP. What with people giggling all over the place, imitaing the drunkard, and Jeff andKarla recreating their HDA (Humerous Duet Acting) from the seated position... well, we were a pretty interesting bunch.
&nbps Now I'm completely wired. We got home half an hour ago (it's now 8:30), and I can't sleep if my life depepnded on it. But I'm going to try, even for a few hours.I have a suspicion that as soon as my head touched the pillow, I'll be out like a light. Good night--- I mean morning, folks!

All of a sudden my radio came on... I'm scared. Perhaps it's our Nova Scotian ghost again. Do you know about the Nova Scotioan ghost? Well, A whole bunch of bad stuff has beenhappening inour house, like the toilet over flowing, and the carpet being ruined, the washer overflowing and ruining the wood in the laundry room, and all the windows on the front part of the wall freezing over on the inside... the list goes on. Anyway, around this same time, we got a few mysterious calls from Nova Scotia. We put two andtwo together and got: A Nova Scotian ghost haunting our house. A malevolent Nova Scotian ghost. Amma, in her art class, is going to make an amulet to ward him or her off. :->

I'm a skydiver, along with Tara!
At least, that's what my personality test says.
    Today was... today. Ja...

Wish Glen a happy birthday when you see him. You'll recognise him instantly. He's the coolest freshman there is. He exudes an aura of happiness...
I have it on (not very) good authority that Mr. Engle is "a commie". Let's give him a round of applause. Socialists, Unite!

Well... It seems that some people feel that it is perfectly ok to go around spreading stuff about my personal life to the world in general. Yeah... I'm not a happy camper right now. *punches people*

I realized how long it's been since I updated when the site actually asked me for a password (I have it saved on this computer, so ususally, I get to go straight in.), and I almost could not remember it. Too many passwords...
&nbps &nbps Let's see... where did I leave off? Thursday my Art History class trooped down to the Art Institute to see the exibition of Late Renaissance art in Florence. We took the 8:03 express down, and I would have slept in, if Jo hadn't seen the wrong time on her watch and woke me up frantically at 6, thinking it was 7. Weisi pickend me up, and we were almost late for the train, got a parking ticket, and almost got into an accident (we were a hair's breadth from the other car, truely!). We ate breakfast down there, at a yummy little place with amazingly fluffy spinach and feta omelets (I want one right now). The exibit was great, of course, and I must say my favorite piece there was a relinquiary with the skull of some saint or the other. Just the greusome fact that you could see the lower jaw was enough to make it memorable. However, in a close second came the drawings by Mincelangelo and another one of a skeleton in the most comic pose. I think it was mainly because one doesn't expect to see a skeleton walking like that. Coming back, there was a little fiasco with the train, but everything worked out in the end, with minimal fuss and worry. afterwards, I went straigh to scholastic bowl, where we beat Hoffman by a very slim margin. I didn't get home until after 9 that night.
Saturday was an adventure in Harper Community College. There were laughs, spills, thrills, pool, air hocky, and enough eyeshadow to vandalize the school. And Jo met MLK! It was rather exciting.
&nbps   Sunday I celebrated Sean's birthday by visiting his grandmother and buying him his birthday present (lol). Then we watched Some Like It Hot (Can you beat Jack Lemmon and Tony Curtis in drag?). In the evening, all of us went out for dinner, and had a great time.
Monday and Tuesday were just yucky. I prefer not to dwell on them. And that's it.
