I must start out by saying Snes9x is my favorite SNES emulator. I started playing SNES roms with ZNES but I was won over by Snes9x v1.32; and I must say the new version is pretty sweet.

The best part about Snes9x is that it's really easy to use. The save state system can be used under the File menu or with default shortcut keys; F1+SHIFT (save state #1), F1 (load state #1). This gives you 10 easily accessible save spots for every game.

Another great feature of Snes9x is the display option. You can play your favorite SNES games in enhanced graphics modes. Snes9x even has OpenGl/DirectX OpenGl modes! Take a look at the screens below.

Snes9x v.1.38 is a great SNES emulator and it works with most SNES roms. If you're not set on a different emulator, get this one!.
