The department of Electrical/Electronics Engineering of the Osun State College of Technology, Esa-Oke was established in the year 1993 at the birth of the college. The Pioneer Head of Department then was, . The department as at then only offers Elect/Elect Course in Fulfilment of Ordinary National Diploma Certificate (OND). The Department was having the highest population of Students together with staff in the Faculty of Engineering.
Time grows and the child also grows even till date. The present Head of Department is Engr. I.T. Olaleye, HND Electrical Power, MNSE, COREN Reg. The Higher National Diploma Certificate in Elect/Elect Engineering Course of the College was accredited in the year 1999, during the Deanship of Engr. B.A. Oyebamiji, presently the Head of Department of Mechanical Engineering Department. With the hard work of Engr. Olaleye, he has maintain the position of the department in the Faculty as the department with the highest population of students of over one thousand, Five Hundred students. The department as well as the highest staff strength in the Faculty.

"Hitherto the Lord has helped us in equipping knowledge and potentials into our students, making them ready for exploitation and exploration", says Engr. Olaleye. He went on, "I also hope that with time the Government, both at State and Federal Level, will know the importance of Technological education and put more funds and efforts (investments) into it".

He gave his advice to the students that they should stay away from cultism and abstain from any form/ appearance of social Vices.
